We have just returned from a lovely holiday in Ortigia, it is beautiful with so much history and things to see and do in Siracusa as well. We really enjoyed staying at the Atrio, and felt at home. The Minerva room we stayed in was large, more like a little apartment, we had two large doors with a french balcony, with views to the old narrow street. It was very quiet which we wanted. We did have what we called a makeshift balcony at the front door to the apartment, there wasn't a table and chairs there, but we improvised by bring the chairs out when we wanted some sun. There probably is room for a small table and chairs near the front door, maybe the owners might think about this? Their is also a little courtyard with table and chairs where you can relax. The rooms also have a kettle, cups, and a fridge. The breakfast was good lots of choice, far too much for me to eat at breakfast. Fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, cakes,bread rolls, ham, cheese, jams etc. The almond cake they did and the chocolate waffles were very good. Of course tea, cappuccino, espresso etc, all good. Thank you to the lady who did breakfast, I can't remember your name. There was a courtyard area to eat breakfast I think, but it wasn't warm enough in the morning to eat out there, so we ate inside. They also arranged a taxi from and to the airport for a much better rate than you would get if you got a taxi from the airport yourself. Thank you to Daniela and everyone at the Atrio, I would recommend staying there and visiting Ortigia, it was lovely to wander around the old streets. I'm sure we will be back to Sicily.

We loved Atrio B&B. Our room was actually an apartment, with a full kitchen and everything. Breakfast - with home baking- was great and the owner Daniella and her mum Maria are lovely people. Location is great, very near Via Roma and a fantastic variety of shops and restaurants, very near the sea, the remarkable Piazza Duomo and a lot of main sights. Don't miss the local puppet theatre, really intimate and entertaining.nwe left some clothes behind but they are sending them on to us - that's great service! One warning - we found it a little hard to find using Google maps which places it, incorrectly, on Vicollo I when you need Viccolo III, which is in the opposite side of the street. Face the little church and it is down the alleyway to its right.

“Great B@B”

Only stayed one night wish we had stayed longer. Great cakes all homemade for breakfast, exceptional for the price. Great central position down a small alleyway. Very comfortable and modern rooms in an old building. Friendly and helpful owners although no real English spoken.
