Mine & my daughters first time in Portugal. Family holiday for my daughters 11th birthday here from 2nd to the 9th April 2024 . Staff are friendly and hard working .They go out they're way to meet your needs .Hotel is the most beautiful hotel I've stayed in .Abit pricey but worth every penny . Rooms cleaned daily we were left fresh towels everyday so far since we've been here . And bottle of water most days but if you need water ask the cleaners they will give you a bottle . Food is met to everyone's needs depending on what you like . If you come to Alvor baia please try there oranges if you like them they are the most tasty oranges 🍊 I've had in my life .Pool is huge .Cold first time you jump in ( or my case my hubby pushed me in .) Little tip don't get a taxi portimao you can walk there and back within about an hour .Taxi will try and charge you about €30 .There's nothing there .But my hubby enjoyed the walk there and back .Just sad to be leaving on Tuesday

“Clean,friendly, large rooms - but awful food and entertainment”

PROS Very clean hotel. Rooms, communal areas, pool and restaurants were meticulously cleaned all the time. Hotel is pretty new. Friendly service. Reception staff, waiting staff, bar staff are all wonderful here. Huge pool and plenty of sun loungers. Little shallow kids pool too. Small playground area. Nice, small afternoon tea choice (burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, cakes, biscuits, cookies, ice cream, salad, fruit, crisps). Large, bright and airy rooms. Family rooms (for four) separate into two areas and there is a TV in each area. Spa massage was excellent (you pay extra). 15-20 mins walk to Alvor fishing village which has a few shops and restaurants. There is also a tourist bus that stops by the hotel for €4 pp. Crazy golf and supermarket within walking distance. Can easily book excursions and car hire from hotel. Shuttle to the beach (free) CONS Food was disappointing. You won't go hungry but every night it is the same stuff and choice is limited. Have been to other all inclusive 4 star resorts and they had a much bigger choice with specials every night. Nothing of the sort here. Salad bar wasn't big, fruit choice was surprisingly small (usually only two different fruit types each meal), no ice cream for dessert (surprising given so many kids), breakfast lacked waffles, nuts, seeds, dried fruits (usually a standard from what I've experienced), no cheese choice at dinner, no tea/coffee at dinner time (machines turned off), almost no shellfish (they have grilled fish), soups were the same and bland. It has potential to be so much better. All inclusive snack bar 4-530pm had a nice selection. You pay a deposit for the beach towels and can only change them every two days. Entertainment was awful. The kids club was tiny and lacked a fun vibe. My kids took one look and did an immediate U-turn. The entertainment for kids included a mini disco at night only. No shows, no games, no movies, no face painting. In the day, the entertainment rotated each day. One day they wheeled out one ping pong table for one hour - why not keep it out? One day they had jenga. Another day Mikado. They had such a big pool - where were the water activities? Pool was large but freezing. Spa pool can be used by families with children but at an extra charge and oddly during dinner time hours. Gym was only available for a fee even if all inclusive. Hotel safe is charged by day. They forgot to clean our room one day - not a huge deal. Bathrooms are modern but one annoying thing - the towel rails and loo roll is fitted ridiculously low down. What's that about? Games room had about 8 machines. 5 of which are broken. One swallowed our money and nothing happened. Another was a toy machine. And the third looks very old. Overall Overall, this hotel appears to be a family friendly hotel with the large family style rooms and friendly service. It has potential but the food choice and entertainment really let them down. The rooms and facilities for children simply don't match. But it's easy to fix and I hope they do for the future.

Sadly we arrived and it was a very windy wet week ahead of us! Overall:!!!! But having ready the reviews and the facilities at and close by to the hotel we weren’t to be disheartened and thought the hotel would do what they could to provide entertainment! In all honesty the hotel was wonderful clean tidy fresh great facilities with the pool spa kids park the good times were generally great! Drink availability good! The pool was huge lovely and clean but due to the wet and windy weather we couldn’t go in as it was freezing! The room was clean spacious and light with a huge balcony looks and cleanliness wise one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and we travel a lot! Tips:!! Bring a kettle there isn’t one in the room Then we asked for milk and were provided with a full carton of uht no tea bags coffee and sugar so we brought our own Ask for a fresh bottle of water for the fridge daily other wise you won’t get one It is a travel cot provided for babies not a full one encase this informed your decision had we have known this we wouldn’t have booked the hotel again sadly as our daughter ended up in wit us as wouldn’t sleep in a travel cot Bring toiletries a bag of soap Is provided but that’s it in our room Bring washing up Liquid again lots of dishes plates etc to use as apartment has a kitchen but no washing up liquid provided but a tea towel was! Room for improvement:!!!!!!! The pirate park was so wet after the rain that it would have been a great gesture to just have one of the staff wipe it down most of other is under shelter but having someone wipe the slides down would have just meant when it wasn’t raining the children could have played on the equipment! We took a towel from the room to wipe it down but let’s say was far from ideal! The one bedroom parent walk between the bedroom and lounge isn’t a full walk which meant that when me and my husband put our daughter to bed and wanted to sit on the balcony/ in the lounge to have a drink it was so light as it wasn’t a full wall picture attached so as there was a huge gap between the bedroom and lounge it meant we either had to sit in the dark or our daughter kept waking up which we expected better! Had we have know knew it wasn’t a full Separate room we wouldn’t have booked this hotel! Dinner could have been served by 5:30! As a family with a 1 year old dinner not starting until 6:30 was to late after a day of playing she was so tired and ready for bed by this time so perhaps consider dinner earlier as advertise the hotel as family one, it meant our daughter was having ‘snack bar tea’ which in all honesty was the worse meal selection of all of the meals and snacks! One night she had a cake and crisps for her tea as there was nothing else she would eat at 1 year old! We got through a lot of the snacks we brought from home and cereal is the truth! There were no animation staff for children as the weather was so wet they could have set up some ‘indoor’ mini games just to try to help support with the wet weather The spa offer family hour 6-7pm so children could go in which is great but again so late! My husband asked if as the weather was so bad and we couldn’t use the outdoor pool which was also only 8 degrees if they could put in a morning or early afternoon family swim (which we know we could have to pay for and well the hotel would make more money from) but we were told by reception they had ‘no authority changing the timetable’ I honestly think the hotel Could have done SO MICH more to accommodate the poor wet and windy weather but no one tried in the slightest it meant a hotel of bored kids! So we purely wouldn’t stay again for that reason we know the hotel can’t help the weather but we have been to so many more places which woukd have tried so much harder! We didn’t formally feel It reflected the premier status due to the staff/ entertainment/ activities/
