Excellent staff, Excellent Hotel! The Manager Sandra greeted us warmly & helped to check us in, we arrived earlier than expected and your surprise our room was ready! The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The beds are exceptionally good quality. We went to the matinee showing of Shawshank redemption & the walk from the hotel to the Bord Gais Theatre is less than 5 minutes, so convenient. We ate in Stir restaurant that evening in the hotel & the food was delicious, there was a great variety on the menu and all top quality. Thank you to Sandra and all the staff at the Clayton Cardiff Lane! I would highly recommend this hotel & will definitely be back!

This hotel is across the river from the Salesforce Dublin office and many other office buildings, which makes it a great location. The breakfast is delicious with lots of options. I was able to check in upon arrival at 11 am which was amazing and total God send; the gym is also awesome with an abundance of weights, machines, punching bag, lap pool, etc. The room had a fan which helped in this liminal season. I like the in room coffee, tea, and real milk. A mini fridge would have been nice. The decor was functional rather than beautiful. There was quite a bit of construction going on, although I had a quiet night’s sleep. Shampoo has conditioner in it, and there was no body lotion.

Stayed for three nights at the Clayton Hotel Cardiff Lane in Dublin and came away with mixed feelings. The hotel is located towards the far end of the city, so getting to the main bars and sightseeing spots requires either a decent walk or a taxi. We chose to walk, which was manageable, but something to keep in mind depending on your plans. On arrival, the reception team were polite and friendly, and check-in was smooth and straightforward. Our rooms were on the top floor and were clean, spacious, and modern. Unfortunately, the view overlooked a building site with cranes, and the windows were covered in scaffolding, so they couldn’t be opened, which was disappointing. On our first night, we ate in the bar due to a late arrival. This wasn’t a great experience—there was a mix-up with our order and we only received two pizzas instead of four. By the time it was corrected, half our group had already finished eating. There wasn’t much of an apology, and it felt like the issue was being shifted onto us rather than resolved properly. Breakfast each morning was a highlight, with a great buffet selection and plenty of choice. However, the atmosphere was let down by the staff, who didn’t seem particularly engaged. At times, it felt like senior staff were more focused on directing junior colleagues than creating a welcoming environment. We also visited the pool in the evening. It’s worth noting you’ll need a swimming hat (available to buy there) and a padlock for the lockers. The pool itself was fine, but the changing rooms weren’t very clean, and swimming lessons were taking place, which limited the available space. On a positive note, the gentleman at the pool reception was very warm and welcoming. On the second evening, we dined in the restaurant. Initially, the staff were very attentive, but after a mistake with a drinks order (white wine brought instead of red), things took a turn. Rather than apologising and correcting it promptly, there was some pushback about what had been ordered, which wasn’t handled well. After that, service noticeably dropped off. That said, the menu offered a good variety and the food itself was delicious. Check-out was quick and efficient, with polite staff who also helped arrange a taxi to the airport, which arrived promptly. Overall, while there were some positives—particularly the rooms, food, and certain members of staff—the general lack of warmth and inconsistency in service really impacted the experience. Given the price, I don’t feel it offered good value, and I probably wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
