10 things I would have liked to have known upon arrival. 1) towels can be loaned with a returnable deposit. £10 per towel. Pay at reception and collect towels at hut next to water slides. 2) there is a free coach to the market leaving at 0900 and 1200. Subsequent pick ups at 1230 and 1630.this ... more

10 things I would have liked to have known upon arrival. 1) towels can be loaned with a returnable deposit. £10 per towel. Pay at reception and collect towels at hut next to water slides. 2) there is a free coach to the market leaving at 0900 and 1200. Subsequent pick ups at 1230 and 1630.this can only be booked the day before and was full in march. If you miss the coach, taxi there and back is easy to arrange and costs no more than 150 dhirum one way. Takes approx 20mins. 3) the outdoor bar only opened when the sunshined. There is a queue for a drink. 4) the restaurant food is OK. The selection OK. Do not expect hot dogs or burgers for kids. There is freshly made pizza and pasta which is excellent however expect to queue and those with little ones I would recommend arriving at the restaurant early to get first in line. There are no alternate restaurants within walking distance to the hotel although we did hear of families ordering takeaways in. 5) there is no free ice cream and the shops ice cream range is limited and costs approx £2.50 6) we were lucky enough to extend our room for 3 hours as our flight was at 1700 and it only cost 200 dhirum approx £18. Excellent value. 7) the pools were cold (only heated by the sun) in March but wim hoff would be proud of our kids and us adults that braved the water! 8) the kids club is free and staff are great. Very relaxed. Our children 4 and 7 loved it! 9) multiple activities during the day for all ages 10) water slides are great fun. Adults remember to get the blue matts from the same place as the towel or prepared to get stuck and pushing yourself down (talking from experience)! Even if you don't like the slides, venture up there for a view of atlas mountains on the horizon! Overall, although the weather was hit and miss at the end of March, we had a lot of fun, met some nice families and the Morrocon hospitality was excellent. Staff were great with kids and went out of there way to make them smile! The rooms were good sizes for a family of 4 and the showers were great! We felt extremely safe throughout our stay. Side note the market is great fun, prepare to haggle and start at 1/3 rd of the price! Hope you found the review helpful.

Location …….30 mins from airport but a little out of the way of town centre and had to rely on Hotel shuttle bus 2 x per day 9am returning 12:40 and 14:30 returning at 17:30 no charge A taxi is about £12 each way but be careful of scams Nothing around the hotel with some no go areas Check in …..friendly but took some time as you had to fill in some forms and pay your tourist tax bill Rooms …… good and very clean Staff ……. Mostly friendly and very helpful (Bar manager very miserable) Bars …… All inclusive 1 x outdoor until 6 then indoor until 10 ( be careful if you buy a drink at 10 the lights come on and you are asked to leave) Plastic glasses and 2 drinks per person 1 x premium drinks bar indoor (didn’t use) Both all inclusive bars did have long queues and would have benefited from self service soft drinks and coffee machines Food ….. although the supporting good is good the main dishes (meat and fish lets this Hotel down as very limited and very tough) Breakfast …… I liked usual choice of fruit, bread, cereals,jams, juices etc Eggs and pancakes could to order. Chicken sausages , tomatoes and boiled eggs Lunch ……, there is an outdoor BBQ which has sardines one day then chicken kebabs. Dinner…….. similar to lunch with a separate pasta (1 dish) and pizza counter with (choice of 3) long queues at lunch and dinner with the longest queue for the chips. Food no good for kids There is wine snd beer from a small bar served in proper glasses Entertainment team …… very passionate about their jobs but limited for what they can do in a small indoor bar …….nice people and very friendly Grounds …… very pretty Facilities …… good with choice of boules,tennis,football,volley ball 3 x swimming pools ……. Very very cold Water slides …… not used that much due to cold pools Cleanliness …….. excellent Too tips……. Don’t take any money just exchange in Hotel as you get a better rate Shuttle Bus…….. book day before Souks…….. I found expensive and you really had to haggle hard (go early for best deals) Airport ……. Please be careful as they charge if overweight 15 euros per kg and check every carry on bag size ……. Very slow queues so go early Sunbeds ………..plenty and you didn’t have to get up too early if you wanted to reserve (might change as temps increase)

The Labranda is pleasant, scenic and clean, and has great potential to be a good four star hotel. However there are several areas requiring improvement. I'll list the pros and cons. Postives: Large grounds, nice main pool with plenty of beds, additional pools. Water slides. Plenty of sports, ie table tennis, tennis, badminton with free hire of equipment. Friendly staff. Bar waiters friendly and chatty. Beds comfortable. Shower good. Toiletries provided. They will not clean your room if asked and also give you a reward if you do this, ( bottle of wine/ money off services etc) Wifi is better than in most hotels we've stayed in. Check in was fast, you have to fill in a form and pay a city tax. Most staff understand English well. Entertainment staff friendly and hard working. Good variety of food, bread very fresh. Coffee and tea self service available at each meal. Self service soft drinks at meals. Lots of fresh fruit at each meal Good variety of drinks including cocktails and mocktails Pina colada one of nicest I've found on all inclusive and they have a nice non alcoholic one for day time or for teetotallers Negatives: One pool slide off all week, asked Reception staff member , said to ask lifeguard! !!! Only one bar open at any time. Only one or 2 staff on it. This resulted in long queues which was very annoying. Usually in All Inclusive there is a self service coffee machine and soft drinks machine at the bar which keeps queues down and means you can nip up and get a soft drink in 2 secs. This wasn't the case here so you had to queue ages and people getting coffee, they made it with beans and it took ages making the queue even longer. Easy solution: Put self service soft drinks/ coffee machines at the bar!!! Tiny glasses they didn't even fill, meaning after queuing ages it was gone in no time, and back off to queue again! Easy solution: Bigger glasses. Less ice in them. No non alcoholic beer for people who don't drink, which is was bizarre as most places have zero alcohol beer now. They should serve that in disguise anyway, given the behaviour of many guests portraying the Brits as loud drunken louts. Some people on it all day!! Why pay all that money to go abroad and spend it half canned? Madness! Food was often cold. The soup was delicious when hot but most of the time was lukewarm. No chips at dinner which I found bizarre. Only time there were chips was at lunch. I prefer a light snack at lunch and a meal at night and always enjoy chips with it but none at night. The chips were nice when hot but again, even when brought out " fresh" they were often cold, making them inedible. I think they make them in the back and leave them standing. Best to bring them out freshly cooked There was a pizza and pasta station but the queues were too long. They'd be better making them and putting them out for people to help themselves At breakfast there was a guy making omelettes and fried eggs which were nice. A woman made "moroccan doughnuts" which are basically pancakes but they were folded in 4. This meant that despite the outside looking nice, inside was just layers of uncooked pastry. I asked if she'd make me a flat one and she refused. This meant getting 2 of them, just eating the outside layers and binning the rest which was a complete waste. No bacon. Yes its a Muslim country and they don't eat it, but they don't drink but they serve alcohol. All other muslim countries we've been to serve bacon. No beans, mushrooms or fried bread either. The fresh rolls were delicious though. Desserts were just small cakes which weren't very nice and was the same night after night. No ice cream at all, which is what I always eat after dinner when going All Inclusive. Ice cream isn't expensive so can't understand why there is none. Its also annoying that if you get up to get something else to eat, while you're gone the waiters swoop and take your cutlery ( off on a hunt to get more) and any food you hadn't finished, etc etc. Again very wasteful as you then have to get more cutlery and food. They're constantly swarming waiting to take plates and cups you would reuse. Also no spare napkins about, just one each. There should be some available. There was one room for entertainment. This was the room the bar was in. There were not enough tables and chairs for guests anyway. The music was so loud I had a headache, despite stuffing my ears with tissue over my ear plugs!!. I was a DJ for years and it's this sort of environment, though not nearly as loud, that has damaged my ears. As such, even moderately loud music causes pain and I wear ear plugs when going into music venues. But this music was just ridiculously loud for such a small room and for a room full of small children with delicate ears. My 20 odd year old children who frequent bars and stuff even said it was too loud. As it's the same room as the bar and you have to queue for ages, this means damaging your ears for a while in the queue. It also meant we had to go and sit outside rather than enjoy the entertainment. I dread to think of the damage the staff are doing to their ears, which will manifest in the future! Why does it need to be so loud? The young children in there will definitely have sustained ear damage. You can hear it just as well at half the volume ( And enjoy it better!!) There should be a quieter bar for people who don't want all the noise. It would be impossible to chat or say play cards in the main bar. The sports bar would have been ideal but they don't put the All Inclusive in there. This needs changing! Entertainment was also biased towards the French. It also rained whilst we were there and there is NOWHERE to sit outside when this happens. There are covered outdoor areas but the cover is like a criss cross latticework so all the rain comes through. There is a lot of rain in Morocco so they should really have a covered area. There wasn't enough space for everyone when we were confined indoors. We sat in reception, due to the noise but were lucky we found a seat there. Check out is 12 noon and you can pay extra for late checkout. There's a luggage room to leave your things Reception do money change, but its cheaper in Marrakech. They also charge exorbitant prices for playing cards and cigarettes. If you smoke, get them at the airport on the way in. There's a free bus into Marrakech each day, needs booking the day before. Worth a visit to the markets, but don't be intimidated whilst there. Don't take photos of snakes, monkeys, men in hats etc etc or they will demand money ( Don't give it!!) and don't accept anything offered free as they'll then demand money after. Apparently there are women coming and drawing henna on you saying its free then demand money. Just be aware and don't give any money if you do fall prey, just walk away. There's nothing near the hotel, though we did walk up to the little shopping area where the carefour is, its a couple of miles, but use the main roads if you do it. Lastly, if you come out of the hotel and walk straight ahead, past the little hut to the right and then you see the motorbike shed, please take some food out with you and go and see the 2 dogs and their 4 pups. If you go out that way and walk up the road about 100 yards, you come to a big main road on your left. Cross over ( you may see the Dad dog before then, he would always wait for us on the pavement) and there's a small square with a bench and flowers. 2 dogs there have 4 pups. They're all adorable. I would advise don't touch as you just don't know and you don't want to be bitten but they're very friendly and after a couple of days they waited for us and then as a reward brought their pups out to see us! They will be missing us, so please take them some chicken out! Some photos of the pups and an update would be great! So, a nice hotel with potential but some changes needed, especially with bar/entertainment. I would return if they sorted out a separate quiet bar but otherwise, I wouldn't. I am an honest reviewer and have posted many 5 star reviews. Enjoy Morocco.

Travelled 15/3-22/3 2024 Hotel room was spotless and pools lovely but not enough beds. Adult pool is quiet no pool bar so had to walk right around for drinks. Food edible however not alot of variety i was aware of sickness before i travelled so was careful what i ate and luckily did not get ill but i ate no meat/fish Fresh pizzas at lunch and tea were nice but only cheese available most days. Fresh pasta dishes daily, lunch tomato based, evening creamy alfredo again edible but not the best. Drinks, dirty little glass and not a lot of choice. beer choice is stubby bottles of stork which was always warm. Coffees were lovely at the bars, In the restaurants it’s machines. Morrican restaurant was a nice experience but it’s the food from the buffet just served to you. It was nice to get drinks served to you but they are slow with topping up. Spa is lovely 350mad for a 45 minute massage which was gorgeous, stayed around the pool for a while there was no rush to get you in and out. I paid £600 each for 1 week including flight and private transfer so wasn’t expecting perfection but it’s not a 4 star hotel, 3star at a push for food/drink and entertainment quality. I did enjoy the break but wouldnt return. Hotel is quite far from from the centre, hotel has a coach in twice daily but you need to book a day in advance to guarantee a seat, or it’s 150mad by taxi. Most staff were friendly however pool bar waiter (older one) was very abrupt, rude and arrogant, younger lad just looked fed up. Towels available at 100mad each refundable on your last day. Lovely restaurants in the medina Kosybar, La Pergola and Manzah l‘kouboitia (above were coach stops) are highly recommend. There is a burger king that’s about half hour walk away i’d have done that daily but roads are not great and i couldn’t get my network working so had no maps. There is an app similar to uber eats called glovo which a few people use in the hotel to eat. Airport duty free does not accept MAD euros/card only.
