“A great hotel with lovely staff”

We were a little apprehensive after reading the negative reviews but our visit to Sandos Griego was lovely. We stayed for 5 nights in a triple room as 3 friends. “Perfect for what we wanted from a week away”

We have just returned from a weeks stay in this hotel and I was pleasantly surprised after seeing some of the reviews just before we flew which made me worry if we would enjoy our stay but I am glad they were not posted until after we had already booked! We arrived early morning and our room wasn't ready but we were given our AI wristbands and was able to use the facilities as normal restaurant/bar etc which we did and our luggage put in the holding room. We came back after 2.30 and the two ladies at reception were lovely and allowed us to have a pool view room on the 4th floor (which we didn't pay for) instead of the 9th floor room they originally planned to give to us. Don't get me wrong the rooms are very basic and would benefit from a bit of TLC but it was clean which is the most important thing and the cleaners come in daily. I'm not usually a fan of any AI food as I'm a picky eater and find it hard to put a real meal together and like to eat out after a few days out of boredom but I was able to find something to eat everyday. They had a good selection of food choices and we only ate out for dinner once. I personally think the breakfast is the best. The entertainment in the hotel is very good if you're not looking to go out but also the local area is great for bars and restaurants and you don't need to walk far to find the centre. The AI drink choices are also very good and they are more then generous with the measures. We really enjoyed the cocktails. The pool area is lovely this time of year and not too over crowded, never struggled to get a bed in the prime spot. The pool is very cold but not impossible to get in. I think the pool area would benefit from some music playing but this is just a personal preference. It was a great stay for a week away as a couple and we couldn't have asked for anymore really. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay enjoyable especially the reception staff for giving us the pool view room as this something I particularly enjoyed and should have actually booked myself in hindsight! :)

“Great time”

We both loved coming here and we will come again The rooms have been cleaned every day The staff have been very friendly and the food was good selection Had no problems being able to sit by the pool and every day the pool is cleaned and they wash the floors around the pool which is nice

The hotel is situated a short walk from train station about 10 minutes from the seafront (if flying in to Malaga airport, the train is less than £2 to get to Torremolinos, and the trains are lovely and clean and put our railway companies to shame) As other reviewers have stated, the staff here are just lovely and go out of their way to make your stay fantastic. When we arrived and started to check in, the lovely reception staff quickly realised that there were 2 parties (2 in my group and 3 in my friends group, but we had booked completely separately so had no expectations of having rooms close to each other) but they quickly shuffled some bookings around to put our rooms very close to each other.... What a lovely thing to do for us. The food was great... Every meal had a great selection of freshly cooked food and had something for all tastes. By the end of the 2nd day, the restaurant host checking you in had already remembered our room numbers and greeted us with a warm friendly smile.... Just another little example of how attentive and great the staff were to us. The bar staff were all fantastic too and were always friendly and quick to attend to our requirements. There is a lovely mix of guests here with quite a few Brits, but also Spanish, German and Finnish holiday makers and everyone was super friendly and happy (probably because the staff make you so relaxed with their friendly demeanor) Ignore the 1 star reviews of this lovely hotel... Some people clearly expect all hotels to be The Ritz! .

On 23 January 2020, the new Balearic Law against Tourism Excesses entered into force, which prohibits all-inclusive deals with unlimited alcoholic beverages. Only a maximum of three alcoholic beverages per guest will be served during lunch and/or dinner.

Practices which may endanger the life, health and physical integrity of guests are strictly prohibited at hotels, apartments and holiday properties.
