City of origin - Oviedo

Departure with destination Oviedo. Arrival and self-transfer to hotel. When you arrive at the hotel, you'll be given your bike (see important notes). Overnight stay.

Oviedo - Salas (Stage 1 - 45.2 km)

Includes: Breakfast
Breakfast. This stage is the first, in your new status as a pilgrim, in which you'll face a stretch of steep slopes winding through breathtaking landscapes. It's also possible to follow the original Camino, but some of the climbs are pretty steep. Set off towards Grado, passing through San Lázaro and Escamplero on the way. Once in Grado, you can leave on the N-634 road through the neighbourhood of La Cruz until you see a boundary marker pointing in the direction of the hostel. Take this road and keep cycling until you get to San Juan de Villapañada and the Alto del Fresno. After a breather and admiring some enviable yet mist-cloaked views, head down the A-63 to San Marcelo and La Dóriga. From here, a slippery path will take you down to the road at the junction of Casas del Puente. Next stop on the route is Cornellana, which stands on the Narcea River, followed by Llamas, Quintana and finally the town of Salas. Overnight stay in Salas.

Salas - Pola de Allande (Stage 2 - 46.2 km)

Includes: Breakfast
Breakfast. From Salas, cycle up to the pocket-sized village of Porciles to cross a weather-beaten plain that runs through the towns of Bodenaya and La Espina and takes you into the county of Tineo, passing through La Pereda, El Pedregal and Santa Eulalia. Then there's a succession of steeper and more mountainous stretches, where the landscape is still stunning and the huge valleys give way to forested lands. Onward to Pola de Allande, passing through Campello and Borres, and climbing up over the first mountain pass of this Camino, the Alto de Lavadoira. Overnight stay in Pola de Allande.

Pola de Allande - Grandas de Salime (Stage 3 - 36.8 km)

Includes: Breakfast
Breakfast. Continue on the pilgrimage from Pola de Allande towards Puerto del Palo, without a doubt the greatest elevation change on the Primitive Way, making this stage also one of the most spectacular. After leaving behind the villages of Berducedo and La Mesa, head down to the Salime Reservoir and today's final destination, Grandas de Salime. Overnight stay in Grandas de Salime.

Grandas de Salime - O Cádavo (Stage 4 - 53 km)

Includes: Breakfast
Breakfast. Leaving Grandas de Salime behind, set off towards Castro and Peñafonte. After the first view of Fonsagrada, which is still more than twelve kilometres away, you'll cross the unmarked border from Asturias into Galicia. To the south, as the crow flies, is the Piedras Apañadas mountain, so named because walkers would pile up loads of stones during the Camino. Ahead of you is the town of Fonsagrada, but head down the road beside Venta do Acevo, where you'll see the first Galician route marker. Pass through Padrón and by the ruins of Hospital de Montouto, and then head down to today's destination of O Cádavo. Overnight stay in O Cádavo.

O Cádavo - San Romao Da Retorta (Stage 5 - 50.6 km)

Includes: Breakfast
Breakfast. Set off on the route this morning to Castroverde. Once you've overcome the Alto de la Fontaneira, the route gets a lot easier and is practically flat from Castroverde on. Leaving Gondar behind, you'll enter Lugo, a city that has countless places of interest. These include the Wall of Lugo (a Roman construction declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO), the Interpretation Centre of the Wall, the House of Mosaics, the Town Hall with its clock tower and the Cathedral of Santa María. Arrival in San Romao da Retorta, a small town very popular among pilgrims on the Camino. Here you can visit the Church of San Romao Da Retorta and see the replica of a Roman milestone that was found in the town. The original is kept in the Diocesan Museum of Astorga. Overnight stay in San Romao Da Retorta.

San Romao Da Retorta - Arzúa (Stage 6 - 44.2 km)

Includes: Breakfast
Breakfast. Leaving San Romao Da Retorta behind and continuing along the Camino will take you to the town of Melide, where you can admire the Romanesque church of San Pedro and a 14th-century stone cross (considered the oldest in Galicia). What's more, this is a great place to savour typical Galician cuisine, such as the octopus (pulpo de Melide). Next stop will be Arzúa, where you'll find sights such as the Convent of La Magdalena and the Parish Church of Santiago. Overnight stay in Arzúa.
Santiago de Compostela

Arzúa - Santiago de Compostela (Stage 7 - 39.2 km)

Includes: Breakfast
Breakfast. Only a short distance from Santiago now, this stage will take you through O Pedrouzo, part of the town of O Pino. Here you'll see the stunning Shrine of Santa Irene. And then it's time for the last section of the Camino, from O Pedrouzo to Santiago de Compostela. Once in Santiago, you'll find an endless number of places to visit. The main attraction is the Cathedral and the Plaza del Obradoiro, but there are many other sights worth seeing. We particularly recommend strolling through the old quarter, savouring the culinary delights on offer and visiting other iconic buildings such as the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos, the Monastery of San Martín Pinario or the Pazo de Raxoi. Return of your bike at the prearranged point. Overnight stay in Santiago de Compostela.

Important remarks

- Babies up to 2 years old in Spain must share the bed with adults. In case you need a cot, or any other additional service, you will have to request it at each hotel and it will be a direct payment.

- Triple rooms in Europe are generally rooms with twin beds or a double, in which a folding bed is installed to accommodate the third person. Due to the inconvenience this causes, we advise against using this option as far the possible.

- During congresses and special events, the confirmed hotels and other accommodations may be different to those indicated.

- During the circuit by Europe, only one suitcase and one carry-on bag per person are allowed.

- Hostels: Private hostels with shared rooms and services in the same town.

- Hostels / Guesthouses: properties located in the town at the end of a day's stage and with a private bathroom.

- Hotels / Country Guest Houses: establishments in houses several centuries old and converted into unique accommodation, some of these may be outside the town where the stage ends. In this case, there will be transport available on arrival to take you to the house and then to take you back to the same point where the stage finished the previous day.

- The actual name of the accommodation will be provided before departure.

- Once you have completed the booking, please indicate your height and weight so we can reserve a suitable bike for you.

- Upon arrival at the hotel on the first day, you will receive the bike, seat bags, gel cover and a helmet.

- Upon arrival in Santiago, you must deliver the bike at the set point, very close to the cathedral. You will get all the information when receiving the documentation.

- The order of the itinerary may be altered for logistical reasons, without prior notice, but no scheduled trips will be cancelled (except in the case that adverse weather conditions prevent its realisation).

- A credit card is considered a guarantee, so sometimes you will need one for check-in at hotels.

- Prices are calculated based on admission fees to the sights as of the date of publication. If there is an increase in these prices, you will be promptly informed.

- If you are a person with reduced mobility, please contact us to confirm the suitability of the trip.
