We arrived after a 5 min transfer to be greeted warmly by the staff and asked which floor we would like to be on. We were given a ground floor room that was clean and spacious with a mini bar. The bathroom was spacious and clean, we opened the double doors onto a balcony where we were greeted by a black cat who was very friendly and spent most of the holiday there which as cat lovers was ideal. The hotel was spotless through out and the gardens were beautifully kept. There was a selection of pools including swim up bars, ones with entertainment and quieter ones so something for everybody, the beach was nice but on some days the sea was a bit rough and you did encounter locals trying to sell you things but if you said no politely they left you alone. The main restaurant was good but could get quite busy at certain times in the evening, there was always plenty of choice of food during the day and lots of different things to try. We ate at the Asian restaurant twice while we were there and couldn’t fault the delicious food we had. We arrived on a Friday and enjoyed the experience of the Rui Neon Party they also had a White Party the following Friday. The entertainment team were very friendly but weren’t pushy for you to join in which was nice. Overall we had a fantastic and relaxing holiday staying at a clean and well staffed hotel that was definitely value for money.

My son and me went for a week away and we had a great time. Peaceful, calm and relaxing. The beach is amazing and a short walk from the rooms. The rooms were nice and the mini fridge was well stocked. The all inclusive food was nice with plenty of choice. It was never too busy. I really liked that there help yourself beer, wine and soft drink taps at every bar so you don’t have to queue up every time. There were several bars including a really good sports bar. We don’t venture to the pool area as it was always pretty crammed but it wasn’t a problem as the beach is amazing. The staff were all great and very helpful. There was also a snack bar if you wanted burgers and chips and chicken. We went there a couple of times but usually headed to the main restaurants. Everywhere was very clean. Predominantly it was English people there, but there French and German people as well. Overall it had a really relaxed and nice atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyable week.

“Just as lovely as expected”

We flew from Manchester on 21st July on a delayed flight due to a problem with the plane's computer! 5.5 hour delay and we went off and landed in the smallest airport ever - within 20 mins of landing we were though passport control, collected bags, boarded the coach and we were at the hotel! I had done the pre-arrival check in so a few mins later we were all given our room keys/towel cards and wrist bands; stickers for the cases and off we went! 3 rooms for 7 of us, we were in Block 1 and all spread across the corridor but no issues. A couple of minute walk to the main restaurant/reception and 4 mins to the pools/beach. Rooms - very clean and spacious. Towels changed every day, nice smelling hand soap and shower gel inside the large shower cubicle with great water pressure. Beds and pillows very comfortable and lots of storage. No issues with cash/items going missing other than 1 item due to a miscommunication but item was returned before we left! Minibar's were refilled every 2 days without fail too. Food - all fresh but sometimes empty bowls - saw this was worse during our stay as the hotel got busier but only a few mins to wait and the bowls were filled again. Yes there were some flies but never saw too many on the food so no issues for us. We ate in the main restaurant, the lunchtime restaurant, the Italian restaurant and the Asian restaurant twice. The food in the sports bar was ok but sometimes did look as though it had been there a while. Drinks - when people were moaning re pre-made cocktails we were dreading what we were going to get - they were lovely and after a few Strawberry Daquari's they made the room spin! No they were not branded spirits but with their measures they are all good. Self service machines by the pools were often warm so always waited at the bar and were served by the most friendliest of staff! Facilities - the hotel gardens, beach, pools and buildings were the cleanest and tidiest I have ever seen - we all commented on this on a number of occasions - even on the party nights the cleaners were cleaning the floors (dancing round wet floor signs were comical!) The slides that were shared with the palace next door were enjoyed by the younger members of our group but the building to get to the top needs a good state of repair! Wobbly handles (when they were in place) and massive holes - in this country think it would be condemned!! Entertainment - 2 great shows to mention in the evenings were the Abba Show and Grease - all the staff worked so hard - no they are not "Broadway standard" but they were good and enjoyable. The 2 party nights were wonderful - preferred the White night but both enjoyable! Day time activities - always something going on from 10am to 6pm, staff did a morning walk around saying hello and say what they were going to start with. Between us we enjoyed the Aqua Fit, Volleyball, Water Polo, Darts and many more. Staff - as mentioned above every member of staff we came across were lovely, from the toilet cleaning lady, to the bar staff, to the entertainment staff. We had a regular walk to the small shack/shops on the beach which was nice and lovely to get to know them and have a chat with them all - plus make a couple of purchases from each one to help them. All in all, we had a fab time, all relaxed and refreshed!

Just returned from a weeks stay, first impressions on arrival very clean and good reception area. Check in, was really disappointed as emailed a few times was bringing our mother with us and she has walking difficulties, we were gicen a room in block 1, a real walk away, I went back to reception as room not made up on entering, and explained our situation. Once got to speak to the manager, he explained there were limited room for 3 people, but he looked for ys and we moved to a room closer to resturant and bar, Once settled in, room very bright, on the ground floor as requested and a medium size balcony, rooms have usaul things, tea, coffee, safe, fridge with beer, pop, and 1 bottle of water, they only restoke every 2 days, but if you use the rui app, you can request items to be refilled and extra pillows ect. Main resturant does get filled quickly, you can find a table, but felt at times like a rush as queues for food, plenty of choice and staff who are excellent ckearing and trying to cater for everyone. Special mention to victor, my wife is celiac, gluten free, he was excellent looking after her and between him and the sgef offered to cook anything if she requested, to be honest could eat most inthe resturant, but he and others walked around and said yes or no to what sge could eat, thank you victor. We also eat at the gurmeat resturant, it was our 40th wedding annivisary, the food was excellent the service 2nd to non, and a night we shall not forget, thank you all. Entertaintment was very good, we arrived for the white party night , what a show, singers were excellent and seems everybody had and enjoyed the night. I know it depends on were you go,no waitwr service to tables, have to collect your own, other ruis we been too offer a service, its ok but again trying to get a drink when places full sometimes you gad to be clam, as people just push in and some dont understand manners. Plenty of sun beds avalible, even going down at 10 to 11, you will find a bed, 5 pools, seen cleaned every day, did see life gaurds although as adults only there just incase. Beach was clean, made the mistake no shoes, it does get hot and your feet know about it. Went snokeling, but did not see much, be careful walking into sea, the ground just drops as you walk in and a bit further it is rocky. Sea was loverly and warm. There are many trying to sell you something, the cape verde shirts seemed very popular, if you walk to the right passed the diving shop there are 4 or 5 shacks, they got nick nacks ect to bye, i used the last shop as the guy was very polite, no pressure and did us a good deal. Think the only downside for some would be the walk, from block 1 to the beach is a good 200 to 300 metres, having a watch you can quickly get to 1000 steps just for breakfast and pools, The hotel has not got or use any wheelchairs ect to hire, so if you are in the situation as above, speak to the manager and he may be able to help, or like some take your own. For the hotel, one of the cleanest and friendly staff we used with rui, all very polite from toilet cleaners, rooms, bar staff, resturant staff ect, well done everyone. For me personnally love the hotel and area, just a bit quite, if you want a relaxing time just doing next to nothing then this nay be the place. The entertaint team worked hard, loads to try if you want too, and many did get involved. The complex is big, i did walk down to the slides ect, not for myself but plenty did use while i watched. All in all a great stay, loverly people, friendly, hard working , and you will enjoy the hotel while you just relax. Thank you
