This is an honest but long review. Ocean Front is also known as Ca Greta and refers to a group of apartments, different sections and seemingly owned and managed by different people. This review is only about apartment 8F and local amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but appreciate it might not suit everyone. Apartment Good - spacious, 3 minutes to superb beach, plenty of hot (free) water, plenty of furniture e.g. table and 4 chairs inside and out, free Wifi, 4 gas rings, tea towel, scratchie sponge, soap and washing up liquid provided, good towels, iron, sufficient kitchen utensils, radio/CD player, few books, free taxi from airport (7 euros back), no hidden costs (some places you have to pay for used electricity and water) Poor - no mossie screens on windows (we didn't need windows open at night but if very hot, you would), not ocean front - the pictures show sand but it is impacted sand that cars etc drive over (but can see sea and as above - only 3 mins to beach), two ceiling fans only bedroom one working, noise travels through building, very little sun on "terrace" - things took ages to dry. General - depending on your personal choice - limited sun on terrace/tucked in corner, true self-catering - no cleaning, no rubbish collection, no change of towels/linen if only there for a week, no TV, shower curtain (that sticks to your bottom), neighbour has to walk across corner of terrace to get to their property, on edge town - 10/15 minute walk to shops across sand roads amongst building sites, limited local restaurants - two open in evening - both good (4 at lunch time) Many more in town (not tried) - would definitely need torch/phone to find way back! Plenty of water sports available. The Cabo Verde people are very friendly, polite, keen to help and have enough English to help you. (I learnt some Portugese and taught few words too - in my favourite supermarket). We were expecting things to be expensive as so little produced on the islands therefore all imported but came home with over half our money. Don't expect long wine lists but you will get excellent fresh fish and seafood and I had an outstanding filet mignon.
