Location was great, close to the town, airport and beaches. Atmosphere at the hotel was full of energy, especially thanks to the animation team. Notably Eden, who was great at getting people involved and making us laugh. Room was nice and the hotel was clean. We really enjoyed lunch at the snack bar, the buffet food was lovely and with your stay you get a dinner at the Italian and BBQ Would recommend and will be returning!

However, there is always one that would sour a night and it was the manager at Nami on the night we went to there for my sisters birthday celebration. Very rude lady. Apart from that, great experience. Thank you to jamina, Leonardo, Lamina, Gift @ Bob Marley bar, Martin @ Marley bar. And many more that made this trip memorable. See you again soon. X

Lets get this out of the way straightaway may be a 5T rating with Tui but if you are used to a Caribbean 5 star resort then it is not quite the same standard, I would rate it as 4 star. Food - After all the recent horror stories about food poisoning in Cape Verde we were a bit nervous about what we would find, I can honestly say that the food was excellent, there were two cook stations where there was always fresh meat, fish and pasta. The two a la carte restaurants were also excellent, particularly the BBQ restaurant which did a very delicious Filet Mignon. Location - It is located on a quiet stretch of beach with only 3 hotels and a couple of beach bars, we can recommend Marleys beach bar for a late afternoon/early evening drink and watch the sunset. There is a shuttle bus into the main town, Santa Maria, and I can recommend a visit as it is nice to get a change of scenery. The town is very clean and smart with a nice pedestrian area with a small market, the market stall holders are not pushy at all unlike some destinations. The beach in Santa Maria is a livelier than the one by the hotel with several restaurants and bars which are not expensive approx £4 for a large beer. Atmosphere - The hotel was very quiet as it was less than half full but for us that was perfect as we wanted a 'get away from it all' holiday. Rooms - the first room we were given was unfortunately at the back of the hotel overlooking a car park and storage area, but one phone call to reception and within 30 minutes we were moved to a view overlooking the pool which was a much nicer. Cleanliness - Extremely clean, the maids were excellent and we had nice clean towels whenever they were requested. Public areas were also clean and there were cleaning staff on duty even late in the evening. Staff - Extremely friendly and helpful.

wonderful experience. A special thank you to Jemima at The Level reception who checked us in and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Leonardo was exceptional throughout our stay — arranging activities, restaurant bookings, my birthday arrangements and even coordinating approval for our external photographer. Nothing was too much trouble and he truly helped make the celebration special. Every morning Lamina greeted us warmly at breakfast and always made us feel comfortable and looked after. The facilities were clean, the atmosphere was relaxing and most staff were very friendly and welcoming. Bar Marley became our favourite place for food and atmosphere — great jerk chicken, music and amazing vibes. The main area that needs improvement is the food quality at the Mediterranean and Italian restaurants. These cuisines require stronger execution and more authentic flavours to match expectations for a resort of this standard. Nami Teppanyaki had a fantastic chef and we enjoyed the cooking experience itself, however the service from the manager, Dalila, unfortunately affected my birthday evening. There were issues around decorations and the birthday cake despite arrangements being made months in advance, although another staff member later helped resolve this. We also felt discouraged from engaging fully during the teppanyaki experience, even though it is designed to be interactive and celebratory. A warmer and more welcoming approach would have made a big difference. Overall, I would still recommend Melia Llana for a relaxing holiday with friendly staff and beautiful facilities, but there is room for improvement in food quality and customer experience management in some restaurants.
