I had a wonderful stay at Barceló Praia Cape Verde and would gladly return. The entire staff was incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure I had a great experience. They consistently went out of their way to help with recommendations, transportation, and any plans I wanted to make during my stay. The hotel itself is spotless, well-maintained, and offers beautiful ocean views. While the property is somewhat isolated and not within walking distance of shopping or many attractions, taxis were inexpensive and easy to arrange. The staff consistently recommended using a taxi at night, which I appreciated. The on-site restaurant, Breeze, was excellent. My favorite dish was the ceviche, and my favorite dessert was the local cheese served with guava—a delicious introduction to local flavors. One thing to note is that the “pool bar” is essentially the restaurant bar rather than a separate venue. The food quality was consistently very good throughout my stay. The spa currently offers massage services rather than a full spa menu, but the massages were relaxing and a great addition to the experience. I also appreciated that staff members spoke English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French, making communication easy for international travelers. Most importantly, I would like to recognize Karine Correia, Junior Freire and Elvis for their exceptional hospitality. They truly made me feel welcome, cared for, and at home. I left feeling rested, refreshed, and grateful for such a positive experience.

“Satisfying”

The reception was welcoming, food was great as it helped to eat healthy while the room was perfect. I slept well. Would definitely use the hotel again.

We stayed for a week at Barceló Praia. The hotel is located right by the beach and about 15 minutes from the city center, Plateau. There are also several restaurants within walking distance. Some of the highlights include the seaside breakfast restaurant Jasmin, the ocean-view pool, and the Breeze Bistro. We stayed in a standard deluxe room, which had all the amenities we needed during our stay. Barceló Praia is a perfect getaway when visiting Praia. The hotel is fairly new and features a modern, relaxed design with Creole-inspired touches that create a sense of tranquility. Furthermore, the staff is amazing. We highly appreciated their professional yet warm service. It was a lovely contrast to the sometimes more formal approach found at other five-star hotels.
