“nice place for one night”

We spend 1 night in an economy room, which was expensive and without any window... Price included breakfast which was served as a buffet but there were some insects in the cereals...Bread was OK but we could expect more for the price. It is quiet sinceit is out of the city center

You should not expect a four star European, American or Asian hotel when on Cabo Verde (except the all-inclusive resorts of course) so lower your standards a little and then look at a hotel again. This one is clean, pretty modern and all in all pretty good and probably above average of similar hotels. Although we arrived late and departed early, the hotel was good enough for a nights rest. A few things that were not that perfect. Our room had two beds and only one extra blanket so one of us had to be cold that night. Breakfast was served but there were no plates, so we used out small saucer and the table itself and coffee was on low supply.

We stayed here for two nights and, fortunately, were allocated a room with a window looking out on the hill opposite rather than a light-well. We stayed here for two nights and, fortunately, were allocated a room with a window looking out on the hill opposite rather than a light-well. This meant we had enough light during the day, but at night the bulbs were such low wattage that we could hardly see - certainly not enough to read, or even to sort out our luggage. The beds were fine, there was enough hot water when we wanted it and our room was reasonably quiet. The hotel is situated about ten minutes walk from the town centre and is in a relatively quiet area. Breakfast was appalling: there was barely anything left when our group arrived (at a reasonable time) and nothing was done to replenish the empty serving-plates or to provide crockery and cutlery until we asked, and kept on asking. On the first day things arrived very slowly, in dribs and drabs, so we eventually managed to get enough bread, cheese, sausage, tea, coffee, and, finally, just as we were about to go, bananas and even scrambled eggs. On the second day things were worse: food and equipment were slow to arrive, or non-existent, even when repeatedly requested, and there weren't any teabags or hot water. I felt it was quite frankly insulting to be expected to put up with such poor service. Things were much better in the adjacent cafe: I found that service there was pleasant and efficient and the cachupa was very tasty, and hot.
