“Wonderful Staff Made Our Stay Perfect!”

Great location and hotel! The staff was exceptional and remained 100% helpful and friendly during the busiest time of the year in Barranquilla : Carnaval. Delicious breakfast buffet, clean and comfortable rooms and nice pool. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Stayed at this hotel for nights last week and although it is a very nice hotel, very good restaurant, rooms are clean although not large they are quite comfortable. Hotel has a nice pool and a kiddy pool. It would have been a beautiful and wonderful stay had it not been for one of the front desk clerks, named MARIA FERNANDA. As one of my guest were coming to check in for the night she blatantly said that I had already had a guest that night and I would have to pay extra for a second guest, which is what she was totally wrong. I had a different Guest the night before but on that particular night this was my first and only. Not only did she tell me I needed to pay extra she did it in front of my guest and told my guest I had a girl in there already under that reservation of which I did not. I stayed there four nights and each reservation I did separately because of the issue of the number of gas that you can bring in with you. Each day you have a reservation you could bring one person and if you bring more you have to pay extra. She was very disrespectful and I would not stay at that hotel again because of her. Also I left my phone charger in the room and they did not even try to contact me, even though they called to check the room as I was checking out to see if they could charge me for something else, I’m sure they saw my phone charger, but sure they kept it. I was in the lobby at least 20 minutes waiting for a taxi after I checked out and they still did not even come down and said that I had forgot something in the room. The waiter is in the restaurant, although they are very good, they ask for their tips in cash because the hotel does not pay them on their tips if it’s on the bill and you pay with a credit card or you put it on your room account. They say they never get the money so they ask for it in cash right at the table. And please don’t ask for ice when in your room because they charge for a small bucket of ice. I actually spoke with the manager of the hotel and she really didn’t seem concerned about either of my issues. I go to the city once a month for a week and stay in different hotels just to get a different feel for each hotel and this hotel will not be on my list ever again.

The property itself is strategically located near everything; the breakfast buffet is really complete and the rooms, though not well soundproofed, are above average. The hotel does not have an effective parking system, we saw guests honking for a great amount of time and being parked outside the gate for the longest time, we opted to tell the guard that we needed to take the car when going out, and dropping by the front desk to tell the guard that we were parking the car for the night when coming in; considering that the parking spaces are around the corner from the front desk, this meant that we could only get to the hotel using the only street that would get me to the front desk which not always meant the most effective route. This ineffectiveness negatively impacted our stay mostly because the guards were not always available for prompt assistance which meant we had to still wait in the car until someone was available to open the gate; at the same time, at nights, we were asked for our room number and last names to verify we were staying at the hotel, this makes sense for security purposes, however, we were staying for 8 nights and were using the same vehicle the whole time so this quickly became bothersome, specially since we were asked for the license plate upon check-in. Overall, the hotel is nice, however, if renting a car, I would stay somewhere else.
