Stayed in room 212. It’s on ground level. It is value for money definitely. On the outside (and inside) it is a very old property. Like if not decades, but many many years and it shows. But you get what you pay for. Few things I did like about the property is that the rooms are really large. I was on the ground floor and had an outer sitting balcony , then a small working area room (with coffee machine), then the bedroom, and then between the bedroom and the bathroom a closet space. Things are not spick and span though, line you sit on the pot and there’s a sink in the ground right in front with some old looking stuff, but the cleaners do their job. They also provide you two bottles of water on check in free, free transport to airport back and fro and decent breakfast with hot and cold dishes. The restaurant area Actualy looks like some resort from Thailand. Also if you’re looking for a tour , the resort is included as pickup point on most tours. People at front desk seem genuinely over worked though. If I visit San Jose again on a short (2-3 days) trip, I would stay here again. I paid less than 80 usd a room and hence its value for money including the fact I didn’t have to take an Ubers (which are illegal in Costa Rica) to and from the airport ! Few improvements : Ofcourse almost everything wooden needs some maintenance. But what troubled me what lack of black out curtains or blinds, for a city that has sunrise before 5 am. Check the pic attached of the gap too in blinds which puts the sun right in.

Nice hotel close to the airport with a shuttle that we took upon arrival and then again in the morning for our next flight. We had a room in building 2 on the third floor at the very end of the hallway. No elevator and it was a 3 floor walk up. While tiring because of a long day the room met our needs as it was clean and comfortable. Good morning breakfast, but very busy. The pool area looked very nice.

“Nice But Very Regimented”

Nice spacious rooms, beautiful grounds well maintained with swimming pool and gym. Only concern was the morning breakfast. Restaurant opens at 6 AM and would not let us dine until 6 AM. Shuttle leaves at 6:15. And you had to walk through the grounds to get to the shuttle so you only had 10 minutes … more

Nice spacious rooms, beautiful grounds well maintained with swimming pool and gym. Only concern was the morning breakfast. Restaurant opens at 6 AM and would not let us dine until 6 AM. Shuttle leaves at 6:15. And you had to walk through the grounds to get to the shuttle so you only had 10 minutes to have breakfast. Even though everything was ready prior to 6 AM they would not let us in to have breakfast. We had to wait until exactly 6 AM as per the management directive. We were told disappointing in that regard that no consideration was provided to those catching the shuttle to come in and get breakfast before departing

“Okay”

The hotel is getting on a bit. A lot of it is quite old. It is clean, though, and the staff are happy to help if you ask. There’s a supermarket, several restaurants, bars and cafés all within walking distance.
