I really enjoyed my recent stay at Lavender Garden Apartments. Located inside the City Walls you are within easy walking distance of all the sites - as well as an abundance of bars, restaurants and shops. My apartment was lovely: spacious, clean, and very comfortable. As the name suggests there’s a lavender theme throughout the building, and I loved the colour scheme. The apartment was well equipped with a small kitchenette for those who wish to self cater. There was also a TV, fabulous air conditioning, heater, and a wardrobe (with plenty of hangers) which contained a safe. The bathroom was clean and nicely decorated, with an excellent shower. Shower gel, hand wash and toilet paper are supplied. There is also a hairdryer available. My only (tiny) negative comment is that some of the guests within the building seem oblivious to the amount of noise they make - and how this impacts on other guests. My first night was blissful, but on the second night guests arrived after 11pm. After crashing their way up the stairs (and talking very loudly) they then proceeded to spend the next hour or so crashing around the room above me, as well as continuously scraping chairs across the floor. I was just about to go upstairs and complain when the noise thankfully stopped. Perhaps a couple of polite notices (in the entrance hall and in rooms) asking guests to be a little more mindful would be a good idea. Other than that one incident, the rest of my stay was peaceful. Getting to and from the apartments was relatively easy. I arrived in Dubrovnik via the shuttle bus from the airport (€15 return) and got off at the first stop situated across the road from Ploče Gate. From there it took me around 10 minutes to walk to the apartments - which was easy to navigate using Google Maps. I think it’s only fair to mention that you do have to walk up quite a few steps to reach the apartments (there’s a lot of stairs in Dubrovnik, which even the locals hate!) So I would recommend travelling light if possible. Also the apartments owner (Vedran) did kindly offer to meet me and carry my bag up. The shuttle bus back to the airport is in a different location - situated in front of the Cable Car Terminal. Which is easy to find, but around a 20 minute walk away, as you will need to walk down from the apartments to Stradun, then back up again on the other side of the Main Street. I would definitely stay here again, and I will be recommending Lavender Garden Apartments to my friends.

What we liked about our stay: The host was very friendly and helpful, if we needed anything we just messaged him and he would sort it out. The air con worked perfectly, and it was also good to have a fridge as we had very hot weather. The shutters on the windows were great to keep the room dark, so we didn’t get woken early. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Location was great as close to everything in the old town. We were there for 6 nights and the room got cleaned half way through our stay which was good. What we didn’t like so much: The cleanliness could be improved, we had to go round with some anti bac wipes as there was still dust on bedside tables, shelf, desk, hairs in the bathroom. Got woke up early most mornings because you can hear guests in the apartment above walking around, or you can hear the guests in the apartment next to you, or the cleaner coming up and down the stairs, or hoovering. Impossible to get a good nights sleep which became very annoying. Bathroom, kitchenette and room are small. When we pulled one of the drawers out the whole front of the drawer would come off. When having a shower I had the temperature set but it would fluctuate, one minute nearly burning me and then a few minutes later it would go colder again.
