We stayed at Playa Pesquero Premium three times over the last two years, and each stay was perfect for us, especially considering it’s Cuba. If you’re looking to relax, recharge, and enjoy tranquility, this is the place to go. The rooms are huge and very well equipped, with a Nespresso coffee machine, fully stocked minibar, jacuzzi, two showers (one outdoor), a walk-in closet, a large balcony with a bunk bed, and room service. Any small request or question was resolved within minutes and always with a smile. The staff—from the general manager to the gardeners—were consistently friendly, polite, and genuinely eager to help. We loved the air-conditioned à la carte restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For lunch outdoors, the restaurant by the pool is a great option and was our personal favorite. The overall atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, with truly exceptional service throughout. Premium drinks are a big bonus, and if you want more activity or people-watching, a quick golf cart ride takes you to the main resort lobby.

I love this resort. I’ve been many times and every time I’m here, every member of staff treat me so well. It’s not easy travelling from England, but being here makes the travelling well worth it. I can’t fault anything here in Premium and will continue to return. The staff on the standard side are just as wonderful. Sadly this visit was overshadowed by Hurricane Melissa and we were evacuated. The wonderful staff handled the evacuation effortlessly and it was still a pleasure to be with them. You could sense it was a tough and worrying time for everyone, but it was also obvious how close our friendships are between returning guests and staff are. They will always be friends forever. Thank you to everyone on both sides of Pesquero. It is slightly concerning about the price increase to Premium Luxury though and hope this doesn’t have a negative effect on returning guests who feel like this is their second home. Take care everyone and thank you all so much for everything 😊

My apologies to all for bring late on this review. I visited from June 24 to July 4th. I stayed in the Premium section. I gad never visited this resort before,it was recommended by a friend who has been there several times. Firstly all the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating always took time out to chat a little. The butlers Joel and Heriberto were great, also Hugo he wasn't working at that time but he was still in contact to make sure everything was going well. Andia at reception was very nice and helpful. Aidily and Nady who looked after me at breakfast were great always looked forward to chatting with them. The beach was absolutely fantastic, clear water, white sand and snorkeling right of the shore. The manager of the Premium Diannelis was absolutely great always checking to make sure everything was going ok. She's always around checking on things, passed her a couple of times on my cart rides. I used the spa twice and the experience was also great very professional and experienced masseuse. Planning to return next year April. Any going please no toonies or loonies for tips.

Here is my recent review from spending 12 nights in the premium section. Knowing that the hotel was quite old (2003-2004) & having been there in 2006, my husband & i decided it was best to book the premium side which was only 10 years old. Also previous reviews of plenty of langoustines and other seafood on a daily basis, raving reviews about the beautiful rooms, and most importantly having a dedicated air-conditioned restaurant dedicated to premium guests as well as butler service, kind of influenced our decision to go ahead and book premium side. Rooms: 4 out of 5 Rooms were newer, outdoor shower was nice. Room was clean but i've seen cleaner and had to ask maid to clean several areas which were being neglected during our stay. Our tv didn't work for 3-4 days (hubby's pass-time while chilling in the air-conditioned room while i was getting ready for supper). Flooding in our room one day due to heavy rains coming thru the door from outdoor shower. Beautiful balcony, but unfortunately could not enjoy too much as it was unbearably hot during the day from the sun and too many mosquitoes in the evening, due to non fumigation of the resort apparently due to a lack of diesel? Premium and luxury pools: 4 out 5 Luxury pool in the regular section of the hotel was pretty nice especially when you compared it to the green non-chlorinated pool where the main activities took place (for regular section guests). Due to low vacancy, plenty of shade and lounges, but no drink service available. The regular pool bar was several steps away so it wasn't any big deal. The pool in the premium side was a bit dirty during the beginning our stay, but then was cleaned out a few days later and we ended up enjoying some afternoons in that quiet part of the resort which had its own pool and snack bar but minimal guests due to low season. Food: 3 out 5 No seafood, no langoustines. 5 items on the menu, yet regularly 2-3 items only readily available. Same beef and pork (pork was veiny & tough) dish for 7 days. The fish plate offered same cod fish plate for 7 days, while the menu changes every Wednesday, the same tuna fish plate was offered for the next 7 days till the menu changed back again to the one of the week before(back to cod fish). Chicken wings were offered in replacement for the chicken dishes offered, but was not exactly appealing as this was being offered day & night in the regular section (buffets, garden bar, beach snack bar, a la carte restaurants). So imagine our surprise when by chance we found out that mussels and lamb were regularly being offered at the buffet in the regular section (lunch & dinners). When we enquired about it at the premium side, they said that they had none, which i replied to was not the case as the regular section had plentiful and miraculously 3 nights they seemed to find mussels...but not the lamb...lol. As time went on, they went back to saying they ran out, which was not the truth, because we were so few guests in the premium section that i find hard to believe that management could not provide for a total of 10 guests who paid alot of money to be on premium side. Plus mussels were not even on the menu, so i find it hard to believe that premium guests were actually asking for mussels and that they actually ran out. Towards the end of our trip, i just stopped asking because i felt like we were being given the run around. Restaurant was enclosed and had air-conditioning (minimal), which helped. Premium section beach: 3.5 Rockier, quieter, waiter service always looking for the next tip. Spent most of my stay in the regular section-beautiful beach, closer to beach snack bar, closer to washrooms, etc. Good points: Beautiful beach in the regular section, nicer pools (luxury & premium), butlers taking care of a la carte reservations. Negative points: No turn-down service as promised on brochures, they don't fumigate for mosquitoes leaving guests with a multitude of bug bites day & night, not enough activities day nor night, same old chicken wings, pork or beef everywhere you go (including a la carte restaurants). In conclusion, would not recommend. Maybe it was during the time of year and maybe things are different at other times, but i felt like we paid a lot more and for the price we paid compared to to other hotels in the region, they did not cater as they should have to the small amount of premium guests in a manner that was acceptable.
