Arrived here at Bahia Principe Legend at around 12 noon. Our rooms were not ready which was fine as check-in is at 3pm. We handed our baggage to the porter for storage as we went to the buffet to eat lunch. Variety and quality of food was great. Upon eating lunch, we decided to hang out and wait in the reception lobby. We decided to order piña coladas at the Utopia bar located across reception. However, upon approaching the bartender (Albero or Alberto, worked the Utopia bar today 6/20/ 2026 this afternoon). Upon ordering our drinks, the bartender was very unwelcoming and definitely unfriendly. We didn’t even recieve a simple hello. He just looked at us as if he was bothered to accept a simple drink request. The bartender stubbornly began making our drinks in a small plastic cup that looks like it was best used to drink water out of. For some strange reason, he went to the back room of the bar to finish making the drinks and return with a half hazard made drink that basically looked like pinapple juice with a little bit of alcohol in it. We drank it and half hour later, we returned to the bar to order something else. While waiting for the bartender to tend to a pair of guests, he begins to mix their drinks. We noticed that he made an elaborate and fancy piña colada in slushy form in a fancier and bigger glass. We asked the bartender (Alberto or Albero) if what he gave to the other guests was a piña colada, he responded “yes”. We found that to be completely disrespectful and disturbed. Also, why would a bartender, take the drinks he was making us to the back room only to return with something that was just flavored water? We decided to get up and leave the bar without ordering anything else. We waited until 3pm and approached the receptionist to see if our rooms were ready. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a delay as the room cleaners were not confirming with reception if our were rooms were ready. We were then given different rooms instead. The reception staff are friendly but it seems that the check in process is a bit chaotic. The resort grounds is beautiful and very large. Our room was mediocre and it looked a bit outdated especially the bathrooms. We found mosquitos in the bathrooms as well. However, the room was overall very clean. We were informed that the mini fridge was filled daily. Sargassum (sea weed) at the beach is very heavy. I spoke to a few of the employees and was told that the beach is at the current state as as the amount of sea weed on the beach is out of control, so cleaning isn’t really a priority; which is fine. I was expecting sea weed as my first time in Punta Cana, there was a tolerable level. However, this is my 2nd time in Punta Cana and the sea weed level is more significant where you can’t really swim on the beach. Finally, first impressions means everything, especially when one arrives at a resort for the first time. Th male bartender (Alberto or Albero, perhaps Haitian decent at the Utopia bar) completely ruined our expectations with this resort. If you decide to stay at Bahia Principe Legend, avoid the Utopia bar near the reception lobby at all cost. June 21st 2026 - Update: We just completed our first full day at Bahia Principe. We had alot of fun at the pool. Drinks were great. The buffet during breakfast and lunch was great with many options available. We were informed during check in that the mini fridge in our room is refilled daily. So far, we haven’t seen our mini fridge replenished. The wall sockets in our room is very old. Maintaining connection to charge our phones and electronics is problematic as the wall outlets would stop working. Dilcia, the waitress who serves guests around the main children’s pool near the castle was fantastic. She’s always attentive and super friendly. She always came by to make sure we had what we needed. I highly recommend to look for her if you’re at Bahia Principe Legends.

Booked the Bahia principe Punta Cana originally for our honeymoon, we was informed by TUI that building work was taking place so changed to this hotel. Firstly couldn’t fault the food, or the staff in the restaurants and bars. However the housekeeping staff failed to clean our room 98317 for 4 days due to their key not working but they didn’t inform their manager to correct this so we only had the room cleaned when we was relaxing and they came knocking. On check in we were allocated a room someone was already in and had to go all the way back to reception to get another room. We had no cold water only hot for 24 hrs after 3 reports that it needed fixing we still wasn’t informed it had been done and only knew as we checked the water ourselves. The condition of the hotel for the star rating is poor. There are broken tiles, parts coming away from ceilings, no drain covers on the shower tray, the jet bath had the jet failing out from the pressure so couldn’t use it. Beautiful views and well maintained gardens, linen delivery comes late and is very loud as tote boxes have to be dragged up the stairs on trollies, I’m guessing this the cause of the damage to the stairs. We wouldn’t not come back but we wouldn’t book with TUI again due to the lack of support after our stay. Little bit of advice if you have an issue only holiday you can’t just tell the hotel or rep it has to go through the app chat or it’s not happened. As I was informed today
