We just returned from a 6-night stay at Sanctuary Cap Cana and I can confidently say we would absolutely come back. From the moment we arrived, the resort was immaculately clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly accommodating. The staff across all areas were truly amazing—friendly, attentive, and consistently going above and beyond. Every interaction was handled with professionalism, hospitality, and a genuine smile. We also felt very safe the entire time. The property is well-secured with visible security, guards, and gated access, which added an extra layer of comfort. The landscaping and overall atmosphere were stunning—lush, tropical, and exotic, perfect for a romantic couples get away! It did not feel overly modern or commercialized, which we loved. It really felt like a true Caribbean escape. Take time to walk the entire property—there is so much to see. The location is excellent—very close to the airport, which makes travel easy. While we did travel about 30–35 minutes for more individualized excursions, there are still plenty of options nearby. We did two excursions and both were incredible. The adults-only small group catamaran snorkel trip with Hispaniola Aquatic Adventures Punta Cana — hands down the best snorkel excursion we’ve done anywhere. We also booked the Swim Horse Punta Cana — also a unique and memorable experience. Both were perfect half-day trips that didn’t take away from enjoying the resort. There were plenty of activities available to keep us entertained when we wanted to be, but also plenty of space to relax. Evening entertainment was enjoyable, though we did wish the shows in the PM Lounge started at 9:00 PM instead of 9:30 PM. That said, it likely allows guests with later dinner reservations to attend. The food throughout the resort was excellent. Our favorite restaurant was the Steakhouse. Top drink recommendations: the welcome drink (add rum!) and the Wild Wild West at the steakhouse Each bar has a slightly different menu, so it’s fun to try something new at each location. We stayed in a Premium Luxury Ocean View Junior Suite in Building 1, which we highly recommend. It’s located near the castle and slightly removed from the main pool area, so it’s quieter but still very walkable Floors 4 or 5 have the best views Floors 2–3 still offer great ocean views, though you may have some palm tree obstruction Honestly, it felt closer to oceanfront than just ocean view. If you want a prime pool or beach chair, you’ll need to place a towel by 8:00 AM. After that, availability becomes limited until mid-to-late afternoon when people start leaving. The service truly stood out. The staff anticipated needs before we even asked, and if they didn’t have an answer right away, they followed up quickly and always delivered. Supervisors were visibly present and attentive, stepping in immediately if there were any issues or language barriers. It was clear they take guest experience seriously. The only small drawback was the dinner reservation setup. The desk in the lobby isn’t very obvious, and during our interaction, the staff there were not as welcoming or proactive as the rest of the team. Fortunately, this was an isolated experience and did not reflect the rest of the resort at all. The beach was just right—clean, well-maintained, and easy to access, with plenty of space. All pools were great! A huge thank you to the incredible staff who made our stay unforgettable. I know I’ll miss some, but special recognition to: Felix, Oscar, all three Miguels, Niersin, Natanael, Maria, Carlos, Ezequiel, Yeasty, Eduardo, Yoleidy, Manuel, Kayla, Antonio, Abel, Qreale, and Emilio! Everything from check-in to check-out was handled with class and care. We had an amazing time and would absolutely return.

My daughter got married at Sanctuary April 2026. It’s about 15 minutes from the airport. The taxi guys will tell you it’s $30USD, but they will take $20USD. Not only is the property beautiful, it’s super clean and the food was amazing. Every place we ate was fresh and flavorful. The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable and the ac ice cold. The bathroom is also roomy, shower enclosed and toilet has a door. It has a small beachfront, a couple of smaller pools and a main pool. Of course people come down at 7am and put towels on multiple lounge chairs but the staff is pretty helpful in finding more. Felix at the pool is exemplary! So helpful, so cheerful, so nice. Tip him well!

His attentiveness and consistency truly elevated our entire pool experience. Camacho, our butler, was exceptional. His professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail elevated our entire stay. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made us feel completely taken care of from start to finish. Leidy, our wedding coordinator, deserves endless praise. She made our special day absolutely flawless. Every detail was handled with care and precision, allowing us to fully enjoy the celebration without any stress. Her organization, creativity, and dedication turned our wedding into a dream come true. Maggie Bland, our destination wedding coordinator, was truly the backbone of the entire experience. She coordinated every detail seamlessly—from travel arrangements to guest accommodations—and supported every single request with care and efficiency. She went above and beyond for our guests, ensuring everyone felt informed, comfortable, and taken care of. Maggie became more than a coordinator—she became my confidant and a forever friend. Her proactive approach, constant communication, and ability to stay ahead of every important detail made all the difference. Sanctuary Cap Cana itself is a paradise—beautiful, vibrant, and filled with fun at every turn. From the stunning setting to the incredible service, this was more than just a vacation; it was an experience we’ll cherish forever. We can’t recommend it enough and are already dreaming about our return!
