We were really pleased we booked this location for a recent three-day visit to Dijon. We wanted a room with more space so we booked the superior double studio with balcony and found the cheapest rate on the hotel's website. We knew the hotel didn't provide daily cleaning and changed the towels every two days but that was fine with us as we weren't looking for room service. The location couldn't be better. The paid parking was a half block away and there was ample access to public transit. But the hotel was also centrally located to all the sites we wanted to see and a five-minute walk to many excellent restaurants. Our room was in a section of a building dating from 1875 that was part of the late-nineteenth century redevelopment of this end of Dijon so it had a nice historical feel with broad pedestrianized shopping streets, great for evening walks. We liked that there was room to spread out and very much appreciated the view through the large windows. Our visit was at the end of December so we wanted at least some sunlight before we set out in the morning. It was too cold to make use of the little balcony but it was nice to have picturesque views of historic buildings right outside the window. Our room had been renovated: laminate flooring, fresh paint, updated plumbing fixtures and new furniture and was all very comfortable. Although small, the bathroom was functional and the water pressure, hot water and drainage was all fine. Despite being on a main pedestrianized street we found the room to be very quiet. There was adequate storage, space to respond to some work emails and plenty of outlets in the right places. We didn't make use of the kitchen area (microwave, cooktop, refrigerator). The public areas were a bit worn but again, we knew that going in and this was fine with us. The front desk staff couldn't have been nicer. We didn't take the breakfast option but it looked like a decent spread in a comfortable room off the lobby. All in we would definitely stay there again and thought it was a good value for the cost. If we went back we'd request Room 4 on the third floor as it seems a bit larger.

A perfect location for main sights and amenities. Staff were smiling and helpful on arrival and our room (4) had lots of space, incredibly light and airy with everything we needed. A perfect location for main sights and amenities. Staff were smiling and helpful on arrival and our room (4) had lots of space, incredibly light and airy with everything we needed. There is some street noise (not traffic) but that’s part of being central. The place felt safe and comfortable. Correct that some of the corridors are rather drab but who cares? The room was well decorated and well maintained. I prefer the independence of an apartment hotel and this suited us entirely. Only a short and easy walk to the train station was another plus. Plenty of eating, drinking and comestibles right on your doorstep.

Pros: - it is a reasonable price for this perfect location. Everything for us was within easy walking distance. - your choice of inexpensive to 2 Star Michelin restaurants within steps - room controlled air conditioning - very friendly and helpful staff - Starbucks is 125’ away. They had the best croissants I’ve had in over a month in France. - public parking was 11€/day Cons: - the picture of the building makes it seem like a very cool place to stay. But it was disappointing. The dingy, old, cheap, grey office carpet in the stark white halls, along with the drop ceiling squares gave us the feeling we were staying in a tawdry hotel. - it would have been nice to be given the name of a public parking lot near by in advance. It’s a long walk pushing suit cases even on wheels. - the toilet bowls sound like a rocket lifting off. We could hear them from all the rooms above and around us. Fortunately, at night people are sleeping and not flushing. - they give one hand towel for the bathroom and 2 bath towels. In my case, thick pillows hurt my neck. I sleep on a folded bath towel. So, I used a hand towel to as a bath towel and took the dish towel to use as our hand towel. If you want more towels you pay for them. - not all rooms are nicely decorated like the pictures. If we’d have known our room would be so spartan we’d have upgraded. - the drapes didn’t close all the way - there was a doorstop screwed into the floor behind the bathroom door where your foot swings. So, you had to remember in the night to not crash into it and hurt yourself. - the bathtub is very high. You must step up to get in. If you are tall it’s not too much trouble. But my wife, 5’2”, slipped in the tub when she put one foot onto the floor.
