For a B&B hotel this one is a little better than some of the usual hotels they have on the outskirts of bigger cities and I would not be surprised if this hotel started with another chain before becoming a B&B hotel. The hotel is located outside the city in an area near the port and something called Oceanopolis but I didn’t think anything much was within walking distance so a car would be necessary which I had and the hotel had plenty of free parking from what I could tell. Not sure if I booked one but I was in an accessible room which for a B&B hotel was huge. No problems with the room it was modern and clean and had plenty of space. Not really a fan of the bathrooms in accessible rooms as they tend to get water everywhere as the only have a shower curtain. Overall a pleasant three night stay.

“A relaxing, quiet location and hotel.”

We arrived and checked-in through the automated system, the reception was closed and no staff visible. We arrived and checked-in through the automated system, the reception was closed and no staff visible. Our room was not ready but when we mentioned this to the young chambermaid, she told us it would be ready shortly, which it was. It was a very spacious room with a balcony. The bathroom was large and all areas were very clean. The view from the outside area was towards the port but the trees disguised the machinery etc. The buffet breakfast was pleasing with croissants and pain, preserves, orange juice, coffee, cereal, yogurt, all of a good standard. The first morning we started chatting with a member of staff called Sarah, who was a delight. She had been to Australia and England and was very friendly. We enjoyed talking to her during our 3 night stay. She told us that she loved her job and it showed ! We found the hotel environment very relaxing. There were car parking spaces opposite reception. It was necessary to take the car each time we went out due to the location of the hotel. But it was easy to access Brest city centre and surrounding areas with a short drive. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is signposted from the road which runs past Oceanopolis.

The hotel is clean in the area is very quiet. Amenities are sparse and the “unmaned” feeling of the hotel chain (no permanent reception or other personnel) may be somewhat unsettling.
