We stayed in one of the self catering lodges which was set away from (but close to) the main hotel. We had our own private parking space which was very handy as parking at the hotel is very limited. Whilst there were 7 other lodges in the immediate area, they still seemed quite private. The lodge itself was very well equipped, however it would have been handy to have had some coffee, tea and milk to be able to have had a drink on arrival, especially as we didn’t arrive till late on a Sunday afternoon when most of the shops are closed. Another suggestion could be to have had the option to purchase a “welcome pack” with the booking where this could have been provided? All in all, a lovely place to stay with the added bonus of it being close to Gold beach as well as other historic locations.

I was here as part of a school trip the accommodation is very basic but clean and tidy the reception if close most of the time and the bar was closed all of the time the location of the hostel is very good if you want the beach which is across the road. I was here as part of a school trip the accommodation is very basic but clean and tidy the reception if close most of the time and the bar was closed all of the time the location of the hostel is very good if you want the beach which is across the road. Although I didn't eat any of the food on offer the teachers told me it was just about edible at most Both myself and my co driver ate out both nights so I cannot comment on the food the swimming pool was closed for the duration of our stay so again I cannot comment on this also parking is ok

I booked Les Tourelles as I had stayed here with a school party some 10 years earlier. The accommodation was basic but clean and tidy (what I would expect from a Villages Vacances type stay). Location is perfect, right on beach front and walking distance from Arromanches (we did it along the beach took 40 minutes). The food was too basic for our school children and one day we returned almost every packed lunch. The sad side was even though we gave advanced notice of a requirement of a gluten free diet we ended up buying the food ourselves. The Vegetarians didn't do much better either. The reception staff were most helpful and would go out of their way to make sure all ok; however, it was closed all weekend so my staff had no access to the swimming pool.
