one of those amazing 5 star experiences that you rarely find while traveling. would highly recommend this property. have stayed at several Hyatt Unbound properties and this is by far the grandest. if you live hotels dripping in history, this is a must stay place

This hotel is truly wonderful. Yes it is expensive but you really do get what you pay for. The hotel itself is wonderful, beautiful to look at - the gardens are immaculate with beautful views of the sea, perfect for watching the sunset. The decor inside the hotel is magnificent. The restaurants and bars are all lovely with plenty of choice for everyone. Breakfast is amazing and those views of the sea, wow, you can’t put a price on that But what makes this hotel stand out from anything else is the staff they are really friendly, incredibly professional, super smart. There is nothing that they won’t do for you constantly with a smile on their face. They really are a credit to the hotel. If you get the chance to stay or visit you won’t be disappointed.

“A must-stay when in Biarritz”

Lovely hotel with great customer service attitudes. We had a small issue with the bathroom, which was fixed immediately, and Nesma from customer service was most apologetic. The gift from the hotel was most appreciated. I will definitely return!

I am very torn about this hotel, but can’t help but keep going back to the fact the rate for the suite we stayed at is upwards of EUR 1,750 per night. The hotel building is beautiful, the grounds lovingly manicured, the location is superb and the history interesting. The Ambassador Suite we got assigned, on the ground floor, was certainly large, looked the part and overlooked the Bay of Biscay. The sound of the sea was superbly masked by the highly engineered windows, when closed. The curtains didn’t quite close properly, so it was hard to make the room entirely dark. There were no USB ports or easy-to-reach sockets, so one had to climb under the bedside tables to plug any device chargers in. The bathrooms were the biggest disappointment – the sanitaryware was the cheapest, most basic type you can find and totally didn’t fit into the surroundings. There was only one toilet in the whole room (by the living room), as the bathroom didn’t come with one. The pipes under the sinks were exposed and the shower cubicle had fairly extensive mould. The toilet room had a bizarre huge set of empty shelving. Definitely not a luxury vibe. We had some cocktails in the hotel’s bar, which were delicious and priced accordingly. The breakfast spread was extensive and the made-to-order items very good. The pool areas were great, both indoor and outdoor. The steam room was broken. Staff were efficient, but no one even remotely went out of their way to provide a personalised service or be particularly friendly. The turn down service was bizarre, missing one side of the bed on one night and not closing the curtains on either of the nights we stayed. I would also not have expected to have to debate a 130pm checkout as a Hyatt Globalist member during fairly low occupancy, but we were made to feel like even this was a major favour the hotel was doing for us. Overall, I would not be rushing back.
