“Small but lovely campsite”

Just returned from a two week stay here. Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Especially Caroline who was most efficient and professional. Just returned from a two week stay here. Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Especially Caroline who was most efficient and professional. Lovely heated pools with excellent water slide. 20 minute cycle into nearby town of Soulac sur Mer, which has a few nice places to eat. Not many ‘fun parks’ around but plenty of excellent cultural places to visit such as Bordeaux, Cordouan lighthouse (by boat), vineyards etc.

“Great July Weather and extensive Beaches nearby.”

We previously visited the Siblu site in Soulac ( near The Medoc ) when the company was owned by Haven(Europe): ownership has changed. Our two weeks in early July 2022 was during a heatwave : fortunately, I had booked a large Excellence Mobile Home, with Air Conditioning: this type of Mobile Home was really excellent - spacious and well equipped and insulated, coping well with the 40C heat we experienced. The Emplacement (77) was a disappointment, however: next to a "Communal BBQ", in use over extended Lunch and Dinner periods, with a small, scruffy patch for a pair of cheap, black sun loungers, also next to the BBQ. There seemed to be access to the site's sewage system next to the sunbathing area, too. "Luckily" the heatwave necessitated the closure of the Community BBQ for the second week! Historically one was able to select a particular Emplacement on line: this facility seems to to have been dropped. The number of Emplacements seems to have been increased, too. Certainly the site was busier, although still pretty quiet: the size of the Pool area and provision of seating there was under a good deal of pressure. Positively the staff in the Bar area were cheerful and very helpful; the Pool was well supervised and the small shop was well run and welcoming first thing in the morning for the "Bread and Croissant Run". Reasonable confidence in French would be a benefit in July. The Domaine de Soulac is some way from the Beaches: those "in town" could be reached by bike, but with a car miles of extensive surf beaches are available, some 'supervised', but some not: visitors, with children especially, need to be aware of the strong cross-currents and undertows.

“Small, safe campsite great for first time campers.”

This was our first camping holiday with our 3yr old. The campsite was easily accessed by car from Bordeaux so we found the transfer stress free and the drive enjoyable. Warmly welcomed, very clean, modern and comfortable mobile home. Felt like a small and safe campsite which was important to us (car reg was entered for access to site so all entries were monitored). Swimming pool was meticulously clean and very well supervised. Snack bar/restaurant was sufficient but wider menu choice and opening hours (didn’t serve until 7pm which wasn’t suitable for a toddler after a day swimming) would have encouraged us to eat there more often. TakeAway pizza was a good option though. Convenient to the beaches and shops (car recommended) within minutes. We also used the shuttle to the beach which takes ages (30mins) but was fun for the toddler. Staff very helpful particularly since my french was so poor. All round a great, safe place to stay and would recommend.

“First time static'ing in France”

Very nice site with lots of character. Not a static housing estate like a lot in UK as it is set within a wood. The only downside is there is a lot of shade. Very nice site with lots of character. Not a static housing estate like a lot in UK as it is set within a wood. The only downside is there is a lot of shade. Not good for sun worshippers...our terrace got no sun at all. Great for people who avoid the heat and direct sun though. Pool area is nice, bit smaller than pics suggest but clean and strictly lifeguarded. Very french... don't expect loads of Brits or everyone speaking English! Verdon beach (15mins) is a must for young families. The westerly sea is wild but ideal for surfers but verdon is Riverside and very calm. The area is laid back, surfy and a bit scruffy around the edges which we like. Don't expect a squeeky clean resort. Also the only cheap item is local wine... everything else seems very expensive with the £ as it is unfortunately.
