My mum and I stayed here for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners and staff were so friendly and could not have done more for us during our stay. It's a lovely small family run hotel overlooking the sea in a super location close to plenty of shops and lovely restaurants. We had a lovely long balcony looking out at the sea. The bedroom and ensuite were large and very tastefully done and there with 2 great shower options. The breakfast was great and you could have it delivered to your room for no extra cost. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay very much in this clean, comfortable, hotel with its friendly and efficient staff. Our first-floor room faced the sea and was very quiet, apart from the 24/7 sound of Atlantic breakers breaking on the sandy beach, church bells in the distance and some noise from bin lorries, road sweepers etc from around 7.15 a.m. We had good views of the bay, a very comfortable king-sized bed and a great bathroom. I would have liked a bit more variety at breakfast - though I found the cereal I had on several mornings fresh and tasty, contrary to a previous reviewer's opinion - a less forbidding set of 'don'ts' in the information folder and the freedom to use our travel kettle in our room, but all the staff were lovely and the one time we had a pot of tea from room service it was excellent. We took the Eurostar and TGV INOUI from London, with a 15-minute walk from St Jean de Luz Ciboure rail station to the hotel (and no parking problems!). It was a 10-minute walk from the bus station (Halte Routiere) from which it was easy to visit Biarritz and Bayonne. Along with St Jean de Luz, they each had a tourist information office with free maps. We were able to get to Sare, a very picturesque village, although buses back from there were few and far between; this made it too difficult to get to Col St Ignace for the train to the top of the Rhune mountain, which in any event was fully booked when we hoped to go. Although September is considered the low season, we found St Jean de Luz itself a pleasant, friendly town with a great daily market and plenty to see; Basque dancing in the Louis XIV square and a Basque choir in the church were particular highlights.

“Holiday”

A charming and very well kept hotel, perfectly located near the beach, a quality breakfast with a view on the ocean, a personal welcome by a nice family team. Room and bathroom very clean. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a fantastic old fashioned hotel close to the center of St-Jean-de-Luz. The rooms are clean and spacious, but due to the age of the hotel you may hear your neighbors when entering or leaving the room. This is a fantastic old fashioned hotel close to the center of St-Jean-de-Luz. The rooms are clean and spacious, but due to the age of the hotel you may hear your neighbors when entering or leaving the room. The hotel is not located in the loudest place, but still close enough to the main streets. Even better, it is right across the street at the central beach. Some rooms have direct view onto the beach, it is even possible to see the sunset right from bed. The staff is extremly friendly and helpful, never shy to have a nice chat with you when you enter or leave the place. The only downside is: The rooms may become very hot in summer. As there is no air-conditioning, you either choose to die from heat or getting bitten by mosquitos...
