We stayed here from June 18th-21st. Upon check in we noticed an issue with our room that we brought to the attention of Fanny and Carmen. After they reviewed the issue the hotel went above and beyond to remedy the issue. They truly valued my Diamond membership and loyalty to the Hilton brand, and recognized the need for solve the problem. This might have been the best possible response I ever received from a Hilton property when encountering a problem. We could not be more thankful and this stay reaffirms my commitment to the Hilton brand. I wish all Hilton properties could follow this hotel's lead in terms of how to fix problems and recognize Diamond customers. Thank you so much for making this a special trip for us and we cannot wait to return!

“Pleasant stay, but expensive for what you get.”

We were greeted warmly by the friendly receptionist on arrival, and check-in was quick and easy. One thing to bear in mind is that you first have to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs from street level before entering the building. From there, you take the lift up to the hotel on the 5th floor. This can be a little inconvenient if you are travelling with several large bags. We had a family connecting room and, having read similar comments from other guests, I must agree that the rooms are extremely small. This is especially noticeable when the sofa bed is made up. There is really only space for one large suitcase in the cupboard, and when the cupboard’s sliding door is open, it actually blocks the passage. That said, the shower was very good and the rooms were otherwise comfortable. The hotel is a good 15-minute walk from the Promenade des Anglais, where much of the activity seems to be, so I would probably prefer to stay closer to that area if I visited Nice again. Breakfast was fairly basic, standard DoubleTree by Hilton fare. One odd experience was at around 10:30 one morning when housekeeping knocked and then opened our room door despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign being displayed. Overall, I found the stay acceptable. The staff were friendly and the hotel served its purpose, but in my opinion, the price-to-value ratio is quite high for the room size, facilities and location.

Overall we had a disappointing stay at this hotel. When you stay at a Hilton, you expect a certain level of service and amenities to be provided, and this failed to meet expectations. It even failed to provide all the amenities on the room booking. It started off great, with a minor room upgrade (same room but with a city view) and a free piece of cheesecake to celebrate our honeymoon. However, we found that amenities were missing or should have been advertised better on the Hilton App & Website to let us make an informed decision on booking: - The room we booked, according to the App & Website, should have had a Mini-Fridge and a Minibar. In reality it just had a minibar. When I first brought this to the hotel staff’s attention, they insisted that no Mini-Fridge was advertised. When I showed them the app, they just said they’d talk to someone to have it removed from the room description. There was no resolution on this missing amenity. - Access to the Metropolitan Club is advertised on the hotel’s Hilton Webpage, simply stating to talk to staff and that guests had access. It turns out only 3 guests per day can book in, and you have to prebook a time, so access is restricted. This could be an issue if the hotel is busy, and should have been mentioned on the website so people can make an informed decision. - The App & Website indicate that the hotel has an outdoor pool, the app in particular shows a picture of a stick man swimming in water. In reality, the “outdoor pool”, or as the staff refer to it, the jacuzzi, is small. It could fit about 3 or 4 people and by no means could you swim in it. This is also something that should have been on the App or Website, as calling it an outdoor pool is very misleading. The hotel let us leave early, and refunded us for some of the nights we didn’t stay. No compensation (rate reduction, Hilton points) was provided in lieu of the missing room amenities (lack of Mini-Fridge) and poor advertising of actual hotel amenities. As Hilton Gold Members, we did not feel very valued. To add insult to injury, they charged us for 5 of the 7 nights we booked despite communicating in email that we wouldn’t be charged for the final 3 nights of our stay (we left 3 nights early). Overall, this hotel is not worth the money. Other hotels nearby offer better amenities, at cheaper prices. Positives include that the location is great, rooms are modern, clean, and nice, and the staff are all kind, friendly, and personable.
