“A week to discover Nice and the surroundings”

The location was excellent for our week stay in Nice. The villa is cozy and practical. Thanks to the owner for being so welcoming and helpful... and for offering a delicious bottle of wine!

Jean-Luc was a very helpful and friendly host, nothing was too much trouble for him. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. It was easy to access the 'touristy' places in Nice with the tramline just being a short walk away and the train station just a little further on (which was great for day trips). The villa was also very close to a supermarket and the daily markets.

Was exactly as the images depicted, beautiful and of a high standard. We stayed in Duplex Jade on the top floor - layout was compact, emasculate and well thought out as well as the amenities being clean and of a high quality. The location was so convenient and had a safe community vibe. We loved how close it was to the fab daily market, park, train station, tram and shopping street. Suffice to say we had a fantastic time in Nice and in the surrounding villages and towns. We even travelled to Ventimiglia in Italy for the day. I also have to mention the delight that was Jean - Luc 👏🏽 he was super helpful, funny, enthusiastic and had a can do attitude and very quick to reply. A truly great character.

“Picturesque, Convenient and Quiet Villa”

I recommend that others stay at Villa le Nid in Nice, France after staying there as a single woman about a week ago in August of 2025. I’ve done a fair amount of international and domestic travel for different careers and my personal enjoyment and Jean Luc is one of the most friendly and thorough hosts I’ve stayed with throughout the years (Blandine must also work very hard too on the inside I’d guess; I did not meet her). Some people will actually save money staying at the villa (and have more space) instead of at a hotel that costs half the price if they plan on walking a block or two to get groceries and drinks at one of the multiple grocery stores by the Villa or at the large outdoor market with an expected large variety of fruits and vegetables and a pleasantly surprising wide variety of fish and seafood a few blocks away. Not everyone likes to cook on vacation, so luckily there are plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood and a ton if walking a mile, taking a very friendly local taxi ride (I recommend doing this to and from the airport for those with mobility issues/too much luggage) otherwise just take the tram. People are delightfully quiet and courteous on the tram! It’s easy to take a small cooler on the tram to the beach, but there are many incredible different types of restaurants on and across the street from the beach. It’s a destination for people with different types of budgets and it’s easy to love the city on a budget while treating yourself occasionally. Commuting to Monaco, Cannes and other extremely picturesque cities not to miss by train involves taking the tram one stop from the Villa or easily walking to the train from the Villa, purchasing an inexpensive train ticket and commuting for about 30 minutes. All stops are clearly labeled eliminating a lot of confusion for new tourists. The city, public transportation and Villa are just as clean as they look in the photos and all other design details, the outdoor area and apartment layout, appliances and everything else at the Villa looks like the photos (or better) and works the way it should. Jean Luc and Blandine deserve all the exceptional reviews they receive! As much as I enjoy some parts about staying in new environments and areas when traveling, I’ll very strongly consider staying at the villa again where I believe I’m likely to have another stay in a quiet environment not too far from the center of the city renting from locals I had a good experience with and now trust. I’ve been very fortunate traveling most times, but not always! They have a wealth of knowledge about the area and I believe they would have good advice too about local contacts if I needed to quickly get my roots dyed somewhere there for more international work or other reasons (I wouldn’t attempt to do it myself in their villa!). I agree with their idea regarding being careful with the environment and not blasting the air conditioning, but maybe it’s something to discuss in advance if it’s something you are accustomed to or try a new lifestyle when visiting. I try to be respectful and understand that there are health advantages when choosing to move at a slower pace when it can happen and it can be good to plan a realistic amount of activity and sightseeing based on how long the trip will be. Tourists from other countries are guests and have the opportunity to learn about the positive ways that other cultures live. I enjoyed the ideal location allowing me to walk from the villa to a handful of museums, the train station, shops, hotels and other landmarks when looking for work and enjoying my stay there. I found the French I made purchases from (or the ones who fixed things for me, explained things or served me) to be kind, helpful and welcoming. Nice is a shining international city full of respectful people who harmoniously enjoy life in the sun speaking different languages :D The city is one to walk and enjoy seeing mile after mile of impressive architecture, creative window displays of everything from food to clothing, home furnishings and much more. Bring comfortable light weight mostly cotton clothing and comfortable shoes to walk in or purchase French shoes and clothing there where you will find plenty to choose from. Water shoes are sold all over if small pebbles are uncomfortable to walk on for some people at the beach. The ocean there is turquoise like the photos and you will not have sand everywhere after a relaxing day at the beach. The water and environment feel comfortable and safe for young children accompanied by adults. I believe you would have a seamless experience booking directly with Villa Le Nid. It’s an advantage to stay with people who are strong communicators and there it is fine if you only speak English.
