“I would recommend the hotel for a stay in Menton”

A nicely located hotel with polite and friendly staff. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a room with balcony with pretty view to mountains and park with lemon trees.

We had a wonderful stay in this very comfortable hotel. The reception, cleaning staff and lovely Daniela at breakfast are the best people we have been in contact with during our six week trip in France. Always pleasant and a smiling - it was so appreciated. The rooms are great and it was lovely to have a lounge area in the afternoon with cake and coffee. Having our dog with us and parking outside the hotel made life easier. The view of the sea is beautiful in the sun or the rain. Thank you for such a good stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay with you again.

“Great sea views”

I had a lovely time in Menton largely helped by the lady at reception. She gave me useful maps and advice. I walked (2 hours) to Roquebrune Cap St Martin on the Corbusier path (towards Monaco) which was truly beautiful. You can take the train back (though I walked). Another tip was a lovely walk to… more

I had a lovely time in Menton largely helped by the lady at reception. She gave me useful maps and advice. I walked (2 hours) to Roquebrune Cap St Martin on the Corbusier path (towards Monaco) which was truly beautiful. You can take the train back (though I walked). Another tip was a lovely walk to the Jardin Exotique de Rahmeh & back along the promenade. Every afternoon you can make your own coffee/hot chocolate at the machine in the lobby & help yourself to delicious lemon cake or chocolate cake. Free soft drink in the room minibar too. It’s a 17 minute easy walk from the train station. There’s a convenience store not far away. Also the pleasant palace garden with statues is open & facing the back of the hotel.

Positives: 1. Recently modernised hotel, with smart, bright interior and comfortable carpets. Good soundproofing, which was very important - see below. 2. Nice breakfasts, particularly the fresh croissants and yoghurts. 3. Free supplies of cake, soft and hot drinks all day in the lobby. 4. Restaurant on site for dinner. Negatives: 1. The roads outside both the front and back of the hotel are very noisy most of the day and evening, with vast numbers of motorbikes on their daily commutes to and from Monaco. The soundproofing blocked most of the noise when all the windows were shut, but it meant we never wanted to sit on our balconies or the hotel terrace because the noise of revving motorbikes was so constant. I expect many of the Menton hotels will have this same problem; the local authorities could make the environment much more pleasant if they pedestrianised the road that runs along by the sea. 2. The rooms were small - just about OK for 1 person but would be very squashed for 2. They did not have an easy armchair for relaxing. 3. One of our rooms had no hot water in the sink and the other had air conditioning that only partially worked, even with the windows closed. We reported both these problems to the receptionist, who sent someone to check, but then insisted that everything was working as it should be. 4. There is a steep flight of steps from the street level up to each of the hotel entrances, with no access by lift, stairlift etc., making it difficult for people (like my mother) who have limited mobility or find stairs difficult.
