A fabulous holiday from start to finish. The staff were amazing, always willing to help, friendly and all done with a smile. The food was good and varied and our room was in a great location for to my restricted mobility. There were a couple of minor issues during our stay but they were dealt with promptly. No problem with accessing pool beds and pool towels.

“Good hotel we are not sure we would recommend”

We returned from MarBella Corfu and still have mixed feelings about it. It’s a nice hotel and there is nothing to be afraid of choosing it, but would we recommend it for someone we know or a good friend? Doubt it. Let me explain why. Many good things already said - it’s clean, very friendly and helping staff, good food, and Corfu is amazing. Now what are the negatives? And why not 5 stars in our review? First of all, we were very surprised the room they chose. We booked 3-4 in advance Superior sea view room for 7 nights. Be definition it should be “ is an upgraded hotel accommodation that combines a clear, prominent look at the ocean with a larger floor plan” usually with direct panoramic view. As it is written on the hotel website “ Offering impeccable sea views”. They put us in a house with a donkey on the roof called Nafsika second floor. You don’t see ocean but direct view to the fence and very active road. We arrived late in the evening it was not so clear but at 6:30 i. the morning we woke up from loud street noises, buses, motorbikes, tractors. That’s not how you imagine Corfu and peaceful rest during holidays. It’s our first experience when hotel gives you so different type of room than expected. I would not mention that Nafsika is most distant part of the hotel and in order to get there you have to use 2 elevators with children going like into labyrinth system.. We know that it’s impossible for everyone to get upper floor and best views, bet other hotels we visited allways informed before booking - it’s partial sea view, side sea view or direct. I read that others customers had also this issue with Nafsika. So, that’s not only us. Many of my friends would not agree to stay in such room. So, that’s clearly - 1 star. Second part is more about organising things. App is great, but we were not informed about activities in it, like sunset cruise (we knew about it as we read tips in tripadvisor, so booked it in advance, otherwise would have missed it). A la carte restaurants - clean and nice, but nothing special about food, more like an average. The evening programme - which was like zero, but as this is not priority for us we did not mind it, as the animators were good with kids. And of course the sunbed reservation…I believe this shows the quality of hotel and managing it rather than food. As I woke up early due to the sound from the streets I could see all the action. Even to get sunbed for me was not the problem. Many just reserved their sunbeds at 9 o’clock leaving single personal item on the sunbed and leaving it unattended till 11 (after breakfast). At 10’ all the line is only reserved sunbeds. Some even reserved additional one for their belogings to dry not leaving it for others:) and then I saw a women with two small children who came at 11’ and could find single sunbed sharing it with 3 persons. I mentioned in to the safe guard but she said its not her job to watch sunbeds and said that I could remove personal items myself. :) maybe the Manager is not putting much effort solving it even it has simple solutions to it, and as you go to better hotels there is less and less of it, but as for now that’s a second -1. Best of luck to MarBella Corfu. Writing this we try not to sound picky, but comparing to others same segment and price hotels it has serious drawbacks and it’s part of Management not a single employee to criticise. NB. For future travelers- avoid Nafsika at at all cost or choose another hotel. Use app.
