This was our second visit to Cretan Dream and it did not disappoint. Check in was quick and efficient, and we were given a bottle of cold water each and a wrap with salad as a light snack (we were very grateful for both) before we went to bed. We were in a room in the main building which looked across the pool out to sea. The balcony also had some shade so we were able to make use of it despite the hot weather. Our room was spotlessly clean on arrival and was cleaned with fresh towels each day. The choice at breakfast was vast and even as a fussy eater I found plenty to choose from. The breakfast area itself was spotlessly clean and food was constantly refreshed. Tables were cleared of dirty plates and cups very quickly. The staff were on the go constantly. We used the pool bar each day and found their lunch/snack menu to have a good choice. Portions are quite big so most of the time we shared so that we could still enjoy a nice meal in the evening. The pool and pool area was clean but it is looking a bit tired. There were quite alot of the mosaic pool tiles that had come off or were loose and you could feel these on the bottom of the pool. There were also alot of very rickety sun loungers which could do with updating. Despite there being a notice in our room to not reserve towels before 10am and that towels placed prior to this would be removed, this was not enforced. Many beds were empty for alot of the day. This would be my only criticism of our stay. This hotel is one of the most relaxing places we have stayed and we will return in future.

“Gorgeous!”

We were welcomed for a late night check in by welcoming staff. They provided a snack for us, even if they had shut down the restaurant, as we were so hungry. We were welcomed for a late night check in by welcoming staff. They provided a snack for us, even if they had shut down the restaurant, as we were so hungry. Peter, the owner was making us feel most welcome. Then it is Toula! She is not a force to be reckoned with! Never have i met such a authority and a force of nature! She is a waiter who clearly makes the wheels go round there. She keeps the young staff in check, and has a memory like no other. You don't mess with Toula. She will let you know if you are over her boundaries (like mixing drink orders in with the food orders randomly) there is an order to everything she does. I immediately straighten my back, sat decently on my seat, bought tomahawk steak because she wanted me to, learned Greek greetings and showed myself from my best behaviour when she was in my vicinity. A small nod of approval or a smile from her, made mee feel like i won the lottery and my heart fluttered. Toula can sell us anything, anytime! We need to go back here, so she can keep us in line. We loved our stay! Thank you!❤️ Word of advise; don't test her. Do what she says. Toula knows best. 🙂❤️

“Brilliant hotel…with one exception”

Currently staying in this hotel, absolutely fabulous place, nice clean hotel, lovely food, wonderful staff (especially Manny behind the bar at night) but there is one massive issue that needs addressing. There is nowhere near enough sun beds, there is supposed to be a rule about not saving the beds… more

Currently staying in this hotel, absolutely fabulous place, nice clean hotel, lovely food, wonderful staff (especially Manny behind the bar at night) but there is one massive issue that needs addressing. There is nowhere near enough sun beds, there is supposed to be a rule about not saving the beds but no one takes any notice of this. When I bought this flouting of the rules up with reception I was told that we, as customers need to remove any towels, I told them I wasn’t prepared to do that as it’s not our responsibility and could cause a conflict and that’s exactly what happened to another family the same day. Just get some more beds, more parasols and the issue would be solved.

A lovely hotel. All staff were really friendly and very accommodating when we asked for things. Hotel is spotless, rooms cleaned daily and fresh towels left. Pool lovely but no where near enough sun beds in peak season. People did reserve these and there were none available if you went after 8:30 ish. We went with Jet2 and half board. We assumed it would be a buffet dinner. It is not, it is a set menu with very little choice. There were 2 mains to choose from each night, always a fish or meat option. We were travelling with a vegetarian and she ended up having to ask for something different and it ended up being either tomato pasta or pizza every night. Hotel is the last bus stop to Chania and does get really full in the summer holidays. 3 buses went past us because they were so full. We ended up getting a taxi to Chania. This was 17 euros.
