Yes, guests at Galazio Beach Resort have highlighted that: My better half and I shared an amazing 7 days at the Galazio Beach Resort, and it truly felt like a little oasis. I will break my review down into sections to help future travellers.
Resort:
The property is beautifully compact and intimate with a very relaxing, classy vibe. There is no music blaring around the pool area; it is all very tranquil but never feels "dead" - just people chatting, which is exactly what we wanted.
The clientele was a great mix of couples, families, retirees, and small groups of friends consisting of various nationalities, and everyone we met was incredibly friendly and courteous. This is not a strict adults-only hotel, so you may see the occasional child, but you are not going to get masses of screaming kids at a boutique place like this.
The resort is exceptionally clean and well-run. I often saw staff members actively tending to the lush gardens and cleaning the public areas. The pool is lovely—not super huge, but perfect for a refreshing dip and swimming a few lengths.
One thing that nearly put me off booking was seeing that there is a road between the resort and the beach. Do not let this deter you! It is not a super busy road, and there was a fantastic atmosphere when the beach club got going. Speaking of the beach club, it was lovely grabbing a seat after dinner, sipping a cocktail, and watching the sunset with some chill, Ibiza-style tunes playing.
Room:
We stayed in room 65 (the second swim-up room from the bottom in the hotel's main marketing pictures). I personally loved the swim-up concept and thought it was well worth the price premium. The room comes with a private deck area featuring two sunbeds, two chairs, and a table. This specific room didn’t get direct sunlight until about 1:00 PM, but we simply grabbed two beds on the other side of the main pool for the morning sun and then moved over to our private deck in the afternoon. When the hotel is busy, sunbeds are at a premium, and we did see towels being placed on them early in the morning by people reserving spots.
The bed is massive and super comfortable—I believe it is a super king size. The room layout also features a sofa, a table, and a convenient kitchenette equipped with a fridge, microwave, hob, kettle, cups, plates, and glasses. The room also features a safe, an iron, and a hairdryer. The bathroom was excellent, featuring a lovely shower with both a rainfall head and a handheld wand, great water pressure, and zero issues with hot water.
For entertainment, the television is a Google TV, meaning you can easily log into your own Netflix, Plex, or Spotify accounts by linking to the resort's excellent Wi-Fi.
TIP: If you do log into your personal streaming accounts, remember to log them out before checking out. We accidentally used someone else's Netflix profile for a bit—so "Thanks Davy, whoever you are!" 😂
Food:
The breakfasts were absolutely amazing with a massive variety of choices. You can have fresh omelettes made to order at the live station, alongside fresh fruit, traditional Greek dishes, healthy options, and pastries. I genuinely struggled to choose which delicious offerings to put on my plate each morning!
The main restaurant food was top-notch, though it can be a bit pricey. That being said, you expect to pay a premium for a prime seafront location, so it is no different from other upscale establishments. Furthermore, the portion sizes are larger than most, and they offer a great range of options across different price points.
If you want to venture out, there are a number of other excellent restaurants within easy walking distance in Analipsi; we tried a different local spot every night. I can especially recommend Sirtaki Tavern (book online for this one as it gets busy),.. the food here was amazing but it is pricey but well worth it,.. we went twice and then there was Zorbas which is literally round the the first corner and then about 5 mins up on the left. The jewel of this place is the owner which everyone simply calls "Mamma", highly recommended for an authentic Greek feel.
There is also a very well-stocked supermarket right next to the resort, which is incredibly handy for stocking up on water, ice creams, and snacks. Some online reviews claimed it was expensive, but I found that not to be the case at all, especially when you factor in the convenience of it being less than a 5-minute walk from your room.
Staff:
This is where Galazio Beach Resort truly shines above the rest! I have travelled to many places across the world in my 56 years, and I can honestly say that the team here are some of the friendliest and most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
I have to give a special shout-out to the lovely receptionists, who always greeted us with a genuine smile and were incredibly helpful with any questions we had. I feel terrible because I am rubbish with names and accidentally deleted the note on my phone where I wrote them down, but both ladies on reception were wonderful!
I also want to give a massive thank you to the breakfast staff: my man Yusuf, and Asa, who ran the omelette station and kept everything stocked up. Shout-out to Adu/Abu ? (my apologies if I misheard the name!), who was tucked away in the kitchen but always gave us a friendly wave through the hatch window. Marina was incredible, she soon had our lattes on the go the second she saw us walk into the dining area! And, of course, the lovely Maria, who handled the table service with a beautiful smile even when she was tired although she hid it well. You guys started our days perfectly with your warmth, despite how busy you all were. You are all a massive asset to the resort. The rest of the restaurant and beachside staff were equally welcoming and attentive.
Summary:
I cannot recommend this place enough and gladly give it a well-deserved 5 stars. It is easily one of the best resorts I have ever visited. While it is a big world with a lot of new places left to see, whenever we decide to return to Crete, this is definitely the only place we will be booking.
A big thank you to the whole team from Agnieszka and Wayne!
NB: I have not posted any pictures of the room or the resort layout as plenty of other travellers have already done so, but I have attached a photo featuring the wonderful staff.

We arrived at the hotel around midnight after a late flight and check-in was smooth and efficient with us being shown personally to the room and all its features.
