I would rate Hotel Club Lyda as good overall. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and regularly cleaned. When it comes to the food, the choice was not huge, but I think everyone could find something they liked. A special mention definitely goes to the French animators, Ahmed and Remy! They were the ones who made sure that something was happening at the hotel every day. From the every morning, they brought so much energy and positive vibes. They always asked how we were doing, knew how to make the whole hotel laugh, and created a really great atmosphere. It was also really nice that you could simply have a relaxed conversation with them, joke around, laugh together or take some photos. Thanks to them, our stay was definitely more enjoyable and positive. During the day, they organized different activities such as volleyball and water handball, while in the evenings there was karaoke, music quizzes and other entertainment. Honestly, Ahmed and Remy were one of the biggest highlights of our entire stay. Their energy and the way they treated people made a huge difference.

“This was a 'does what it says on the tin' holiday.”

The accommodation was exactly as described, we had a family room, it was big enough for all of us, the room was clean albeit slightly worn but functional. The accommodation was exactly as described, we had a family room, it was big enough for all of us, the room was clean albeit slightly worn but functional. The beds were comfy enough, the shower was powerful and hot/cold as required. The room was cleaned every couple of days. We usually do self catering so the all inclusive was great for us as it took the pressure off. We are a family of 4, I am gluten free by choice and this was a last minute book, however I had no issues with food at any point, there was variety, typically Greek or Mediterranean but also options such as plain pasta with sauce choices, fries and grilled meat (usually burgers) each night. There was a variety of veg options from cooked to salad etc. There are really only two pools, the third is a small square, ideal for babies, having said that, our two teens had no end of fun in the pool. There was music and our room was next to the bigger pool so ideal in that respect. We hired a car and there is a car park which was handy, it was a good location, away from the main road but there are crickets and they are noisy (this is just a Crete thing). We didn't spend huge amounts of time in the hotel as we went out exploring, there are so many things to see and do. Plenty of beach close by, we drove rather than using the bus. This was ideal for what we wanted.

“Relaxing family holiday”

We’ve just got home from a week here, the room itself was clean enough, we only used to room to sleep and shower so although it was a bit outdated it was fine, we were in the hotel part near the pool bar and the noise level was so quiet on an evening and never had an issue going to sleep about 10pm… more

We’ve just got home from a week here, the room itself was clean enough, we only used to room to sleep and shower so although it was a bit outdated it was fine, we were in the hotel part near the pool bar and the noise level was so quiet on an evening and never had an issue going to sleep about 10pm, the pools were clean but the sunbeds weren’t the most comfortable and there wasn’t enough umbrellas, there’s no sunbed wars and they didn’t start filling up until about 8:30/9 but did need to get up earlier if you wanted one with a umbrella, the only negative I have to say about this hotel is the nighttime was fully French, we tried to get involved in 2 nights of entertainment but couldn’t so left and didn’t bother the rest of the week. Food is typical all inclusive food, meats in liquids with random trays of other foods that don’t really go together but did have pasta and sauce every day, after breakfast ends at 9:30 there’s no drinks available until 11:30 unless you want warm water or coffee from the snack section, the snacks were also 1 random tray every day. It was nice enough and if you filled up on breakfast and dinner you didn’t need to use the snacks. If you can defo rent a car as it’s a bit in the middle of nowhere and trips were expensive, it was cheaper to rent a car and go ourselves and pay on the door! We don’t have a bad thing to say about any staff which I did see reviews about some, we hardly seen staff to chat with, everyone was working hard and 1 man behind the grill near the snack bar was very chatty and lovely, all the staff were polite. The atmosphere at the whole place was very chilled, a lot of families who were involved in the night time entertainment were sat around the pool on the loungers or near the snack bar playing card games. The drinks were cola, lime, lemon and orange, alcohol was beer, ouzo, raki, white/red wine, no cocktails
