We’ve just got back from an 11-night stay at the Stella Palace Aqua Park Resort as a family of five, and, although expensive, it was genuinely worth every single penny. We don't usually go back to the same place twice, but we’ll definitely be making an exception for this hotel, especially the 900 rooms. Hands down, this was probably the best family holiday we’ve ever had. We stayed in the 900-block rooms with direct pool access, and they were brilliant. Having our own sunbeds right outside the room was amazing and meant we didn't have to battle for sunbeds at silly o'clock in the morning. To be fair, there were always extra sunbeds around the 900 rooms' pools anyway. I'm not sure what the sunbed situation was like around the rest of the resort, but we never heard anyone complaining about not getting one. The whole 900 area itself had a really lovely, chilled-out vibe and almost felt like a quiet resort of its own compared to the main part of the hotel. If you're thinking of booking, I’d highly recommend going for these. To be honest, during the day, we never felt the need to use the main pool as our pool was so lovely and chilled out. It was exactly what we wanted. The other pools in the resort were a lot livelier, with activities and loud music, but our kids still managed to have lots of fun in the shared pools of the 900 rooms and never actually wanted to use the bigger ones at the other end of the resort. They still got their floaties out and had a great time. The facilities around the hotel were fantastic, and the kids (and us) absolutely loved the water park. It's massive with loads of slides to keep the kids busy. What really impressed us was the lifeguard. They were excellent and actually paid attention! At a lot of resorts we've been to, staff spend half their time glued to their phones, but not here. They were completely on the ball and didn't miss a thing. Even the towel guy at the water park entrance made going into the water park feel special as he greeted us every morning with a huge smile and a fist pump! As a quick side note, the snack bar in the water park was excellent and we actually used it more than the buffet for lunch. As a whole, the food throughout our stay was spot on. We tried most of the à la carte restaurants, and while every meal was great, the Mexican was definitely our favourite. Even the main buffet was good, although I could see how some people could find the options a bit limiting. As a family, we always managed to find something to eat though. Again, all the staff there were so friendly, helpful, and attentive. We honestly don't have a bad word to say about the hotel. Everything ran so smoothly from start to finish and nothing was too much for the staff. The whole hotel itself and the grounds were exceptionally clean and tidy throughout. A special mention to our lovely cleaning lady as well - she was so friendly and did an excellent job of keeping our room spotless every day. The real highlight for us, and the reason the place ran so smoothly, was the staff, who all worked so hard and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs! Their positive energy was evident everywhere you went and we were always greeted with a smile. We must give a huge shout-out to the team at the 900 pool bar for making our stay so memorable. They were truly awesome! Giannis, Stam, and Estefan (not sure if I have spelt their names correctly!), and the rest of the team, looked after us so well and kept us laughing the whole time and kept the drinks flowing! Even the kids loved them and were gutted to say goodbye. They made our holiday truly special, and we hope they're still there when we come back! We would like to say a big thank you to them all. They were absolutely fantastic and we will definitely miss them. From start to finish, everything was spot on. We’ll definitely be back for another stay in the 900 rooms, and we’d recommend it to anyone thinking of going! Just book it!

“Beautiful resort”

We are frequent visitors to Crete but our first visit to Stella Palace and it was by far our favourite resort. The staff are all lovely and the place is spotless, my children did not want to leave! We had a vegetarian in our party who was very impressed with the selection of food. My only slight criticism would be that the music around the main pool didn't always contain suitable language for young children. This did not affect us as such but I did find it strange that this language is found suitable for a family pool. However, everything else was wonderful and would certainly consider a return visit.

We have just returned from a 10nights stay. What a holiday we had, our room was perfect and we literally walked out on to the pool. There wasn’t a huge rush of a morning for sunloungers. We are early risers so used the time before 10am to sit and have a read whilst our children slept in, a luxury due to our room being 3 steps from the pool. You cannot reserve beds unless you’re staying put which is good as it meant there was plenty of beds available when the pool opened and after breakfast. The food was great, we visited all 5 à la carte restaurants. Alymra, Enso and the Mexican were our faves. The others were nice but we find these to be our fave 3. The Greek was our least fave but that was due to there being too much to eat we didn’t get to enjoy the mains as we were so full. The main restaurant was great and lots of choice but we definitely preferred the à la carte. We had breakfast in the Greek restaurant most days, it was lovely and staff were so attentive. The bar staff near the pool were amazing, they work so hard all day and night and are always so friendly and helpful. The drinks are all branded and there is lots of choice, we worked our way through the spritz menu! The entertainment team deserve a special mention, especially Denis and Greta, they really made our stay lots of fun. We loved chatting with them each morning and they know how to get you involved. We had one of the funniest nights we’ve had in a long time when doing the movie quiz. The Olympics were as also brilliant, what a way to get everyone involved, Denis and all the team work so hard to make it entertaining and they certainly made our stay. The waterpark is brilliant, especially if you’re travelling with a varied age group of children, there is something for everyone. We had a ball and went 8/10 days. Overall a brilliant stay and we had such a great time, we would love to go back. A beautiful hotel, gorgeous rooms and it really felt like a 5 star hotel for us. The best hotel we have stayed at.
