We had an enjoyable two nights at Lavris Suites. The room was spacious with a separate living area and a comfortable bed. The location was convenient - we had just arrived by bus and it is literally across the street from the Central Bus Station. The local bus (that travels to Knossos) also stops across the street at a small stop (not the main station). There is a full grocery store next door and a short 10 minute walk takes you to the city center and the wonderful Archeological Museum. There are plenty of restaurants in the center as well (recommend the 626 All Day Lounge and City Garden - good beer and food and a pretty garden area to sit). Our mission in Heraklion was to tour Knossos and see the Museum. The Lavris Suites provided a comfortable refuge while we accomplished that. Two days later and an easy walk across the street and we were on a bus to Chania. Thank you, Lavris Suites!

“It’s all in the details”

This hotel knocks it out of the park in the details. I booked an Executive King room and upon walking in found exactly what I booked. The room had large US style spaciousness. This hotel knocks it out of the park in the details. I booked an Executive King room and upon walking in found exactly what I booked. The room had large US style spaciousness. Modern and exceptionally clean. In particular I noticed all the things I really appreciate when on the road….that being….iron & board; dorm-style fridge; wash cloths (big hooray for all the Americans visiting); electric kettle & a Keurig; small safe; shoe horn, good lighting, baggage scale (to check those bag weights before flying); excellent quality towels; sitting corner with 2 chairs and a desk. On top of all this was the most outstanding Cretan breakfast. It was delivered to the door and set up room service style with a linen covered table and linen napkins, eggs, toast, jams, bruschetta, olives, cheese; lemon mousse, fresh fruit with yogurt; a warm cheese roll, coffee etc etc. It was incredible! When it arrived I thought there was no way I could eat it all, but I was wrong. Add to all of this the ease of literally walking directly across the street and being inside the bus station. If you arrive via the ferry just turn left when exiting the boat, then make a right at the first large road you come to (it’s actually the road exiting the port area), follow this raid up to Ikarou Ave and turn right. The hotel is on the left. Took about 12 min to walk it, which was a slow walk due to luggage being pulled. This is an exceptionally well run family business and it shows. I would not consider staying anywhere else upon return to the area.

“Great hotel”

Relaxing and comfortable hotel. Great value. A short walk to the centre outside the famous city walls. Relaxing and comfortable hotel. Great value. A short walk to the centre outside the famous city walls. It’s also on the right side of the city for the airport, port , buses to Knossos and further , Chania, Rethimon. Dimitris, Miltos and Mary are very welcoming and helpful. We stayed in The Prince of Lilies suite which was very well appointed. We will return to Lavris and recommend.
