We have just returned from 2 weeks at this fantastic hotel, having enjoyed one of the most relaxing holidays we've ever had. The hotel is on the smaller side, which made it feel more personal, but it has the luxurious feel one would expect of a top-notch resort. We had a large room with a shared splash pool only three steps from our door; it was wonderful and worth every penny. If you're a beach person, this is the place for you. The hotel has it's own space on the large blue-flag Amoudara Beach, with lots of comfortable sunbeds, umbrellas and bali beds - all with waiter service for drinks and snacks. Fantastic option to the pools. The staff are always what makes the difference between good stays and great stays; Paralos Lifestyle has this aspect just right. Everyone was helpful, friendly, and engaging, with every request met with a warm Cretan smile. I have to give a special mention to Vasso, one of the restaurant managers, who made our stay that little bit more special - she was funny and a delight to be around. The entire complex was spotless, with cleaners always busy. If they weren't cleaning your room, they were washing the footpaths, wiping down sunbeds or working on the pool areas - of which there are ten. There was never a time when every sunbed by a pool was taken, which made a refreshing change. The food was fantastic, with plenty of choices and far too many to get through in any one evening or breakfast. There were plenty of local dishes, and lots for vegetarians and vegans to choose from, all really good, even for a meat-eater like me. The amuse-bouche-style starters each evening were great and always inventive. The à la carte restaurant was also great, with waiter service for a change and a wonderful setting overlooking the beach and the sea. This same restaurant is open for breakfast, offering healthier options, with a wide range of vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, etc., choices. Thanks largely to it being an adult-only hotel, it was a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere overall, although there is an outdoor theatre/event space almost next door, which shows films most nights (which aren't too loud) and concerts on a few others - the rap battle night was awful, but that might just be our age. Perhaps the best indication of just how much we enjoyed our holiday is the fact that we've already booked for the same 2 weeks next year. I just hope nothing or no one has changed when we get there.
