The hotel was lovely, with an excellent location next to the old town, where there were loads of lovely restaurants. Great swimming pool and friendly staff, particularly Maria. The room was spacious. The only comment would be the need for more storage in the room, maybe some more drawers and a slightly larger kitchen area. I have never slept in such a comfortable bed when on holiday, with no aches and pains that I usually have when sleeping in a different bed. The rooms were cleaned every two days, with fresh bedding and towels. The whole hotel area was kept very clean. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly go back again.

We had a wonderful week at the Maria Rousse, George and his family were very welcoming and all the staff were lovely and friendly. We stayed in a ground floor room by the bottom pool which was very modern with very comfy beds. The whole place was kept exceptionally clean and we particularly loved the peace and quiet at the lower pool. We got the afternoon sun on our balcony (room 503) which we liked, but I would say it would be too hot in the middle of summer. We especially loved that we could just hop over the small terrace wall to get to the sunbeds and pool. Do try the wonderful tavernas in the old town which is only 5 minutes away and you can catch the local bus to lots of other places for just a few euro. If like us you are a mature couple and prefer things a bit quieter I would say go early or late season as the 18-30's tend to go in high season.

An Honest Review I rarely leave reviews, but after my stay at the Maria Rousse, it feels impossible not to. This was our first holiday as a family, and after months of planning and researching, I can confidently say that any of the negative reviews online are completely unfounded. The hotel, the rooms, the staff, the owner, and the grounds were all excellent. Everything is well-maintained on a daily basis, and the hospitality made us feel welcome from the very start. Tony, the security guard, immediately put us at ease and made us feel safe every evening. The owner, George, is warm, approachable, and passionate about what he does—he even helps guests with their luggage. The bar and hotel staff were equally fantastic: always smiling, always helpful, and always happy to offer advice on places to go. The location was perfect. It’s close to shops, restaurants, car rentals, and within walking distance of the beach. A taxi is also inexpensive, around 10 euros, and the old town can be reached within 5–10 minutes on foot. The old town restaurants, in particular, are some of the most charming and romantic you could hope to find. The hotel grounds themselves are beautiful—so much so that guests from neighboring hotels commented that they wished they had booked at Maria Rousse instead. For a three-star hotel, it feels seriously underrated. I would return without hesitation. In fact, having only been home for a day, I’m already looking forward to booking again next year.

“It is what it says on the tin”

Just back. It’s a nice hotel.. cheap/ cheerful / no frills. Pool area is very nice with comfy sun loungers. We were in 606. Small room .. takes a few days to get used to for 3 of us.. couple and 15 year old. Kitchen area tiny .. hard to use. Clean Nice bar. Not cheap .. not expensive.. snac… more
