Pleased with the experience here at the The Sarpidon. I found it to be very clean, friendly and as a solo traveller( 3rd time in Crete) , the clientele is made up of plenty of frequent visitors who were wonderful to meet and chat too. The lovely Anne and Peter, Jane and Michelle and the hilarious Marie from Ireland - in promise I will return the glass 😇. The rapport the staff have with visitors is priceless. You could have paid 10 times the cost and still not received the attention and friendliness that I feel I had received here . Apologies to Dora who had to chase me down the street because I forgot to pay for my last snack - 100 m sprint better than an Olympic event. So sorry Dora 🙏. Won’t happen again 🫣. Situated right in the centre of Old Malia, close to a very convenient travel route that can take you from one end of the island to the other, with buses coming every 20 minutes. Take a walk out of the west exit of hotel and you find yourself in a delightful and quaint Old Village of Malia , rich in historic buildings, some converted into stunning restaurants and picture postcard beautiful streets. Sarpido also offers delicious meals and drinks reasonably priced and plenty on offer . The beach is in walking distance about 400 m or so but the beach on Malia is squeezed with so many sunbeds you’re near on top of each other - preferred the lovely cove at Hersonnisos 24 or around the pool the days I wasn’t off exploring. Sarpidon is ideally situated, surrounded by a stunning backdrop of mountains yet has everything you need for a memorable, relaxing holiday . Highly recommend. Keep Euros and change . Much preferred than card .

“Great holiday experience”

Room was very nice. The site is well maintained. Good selection of food but close to many restaurants for eating out, above all the staff make it a great leisurely holiday NO KIDS during my stay. What’s not to like. Clean pool and good prices.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in for quite some time. Walking up in the dead of night, it doesn’t initially look too exciting, but upon meeting the team, seeing the quality of the rooms (at least ours), I was genuinely so happy that this was my place of choice for the week. The hotel is well-maintained, has a nice pool area, and all the rooms are easy to access. However, the main selling point is that it genuinely feels like you’re walking into someone’s home. Dora and the whole team care so deeply for this place, and care so deeply for their guests, you can’t help but feel a part of the family almost immediately. So many guests seemingly knew each other, likely from consistent revisits, and I understand why. It’s enough out of the way that it’s calm during the day, but close enough to the hectic nature of the strip. I do feel my opinion may slightly change in the height of the season, but going at the beginning of September proved a great choice. We stayed in one of their junior suites (room 800) and the three of us loved it. A lot of space, comfortable beds, and a lovely balcony area to sit on evenings. If anything, as it was a self-catering trip with a kitchenette, perhaps some kitchen roll, or a sponge to wash up being included would’ve been nice. We also paid €104 which gave us aircon for the week, a safe for the week, and the Greek room tax, which we were prepared for, but just in case anyone isn’t expecting any charges - this, you’ll likely sort when you’re shown to your room. A huge thank you to the whole team at Sarpidon, they truly made our trip, and I know I’ll see them again at some point in the future.

would definitely recommend these apartments. I was worried it was going to be mostly young people , but it was a very mixed age group and there was a lovely vibe about the place. The staff are so friendly, the place very clean, and the location was perfect. Once you closed your doors at night, you couldn't hear any noise. Even sitting on the balcony was very peaceful. The food was also very nice and reasonably priced and the local restaurants in the old town are well worth a visit
