Booked an Easyjet holiday to this Hotel having previously stayed in Platanias and visited the hotel for a drink. We had B&B as there are plenty (and some) bars and restaurants to eat at in the area, although the couple of meals we had in the hotel bar were very very good. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, both hot and cold dishes, and was as good as any hotel we have stayed at in Crete. Staff throughout the hotel were polite and exceptionally helpful, and there were plenty at hand if you needed serving or had a problem - although they couldn't manage to keep the rain away on one of the days we were there!! We chose a mountain view room which had fantastic views (still snow on the peaks) and the room was cleaned exceptionally well each day. The hotel is situated at the end (or beginning) of a long strip of bars and restaurants but is far enough away to be quiet and relaxed. Highly recommend both the area and the hotel.

I did the extended 7-wine tasting with George, the hotel’s WSET Level 3 sommelier, and it was one of the highlights of my stay. The tasting is private and takes place in the hotel’s beautiful wine cellar. George is a genuinely friendly guy with deep knowledge of Greek wine. The tasting gave a great introduction to the diversity of Greek wine, showcasing different regions, terroirs, elevations, climates, and traditional grape varieties from across Greece, all paired with local food. The wines were fantastic, including several limited-production bottlings only released in exceptional vintages, giving a rare opportunity to explore some of the top expressions of modern Greek wine. George can also create tastings based on your own preferences and interests. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn more about Greek wine.

We recently attended a Greek wine tasting at Minoa Palace in Platanias, hosted by George/Giorgios (Sommelier), and it became one of the highlights of our trip to Crete. My wife and I have visited wineries and tastings around the world - from Bordeaux and Valpolicella to Stellenbosch and Valparaiso - so we arrived curious, but without huge expectations for Greek wines. We left genuinely impressed. The quality, character and variety of the wines surprised us in the best possible way and absolutely stood their ground against far more internationally known wine regions. What truly made the experience special, however, was George himself. His knowledge, professionalism and passion for wine were exceptional, but always delivered in a warm, approachable and engaging way. The food pairings were outstanding and really elevated the tasting experience. You could tell a great deal of thought and expertise had gone into every combination. Whether you are a serious wine enthusiast or simply someone curious to learn more about Greek wines, we can highly recommend this experience. Thank you, George, for a memorable evening.

Beautifully located right by the coast with lovely surroundings and easy access to the sea. Our room was a bit dated, but overall very clean and well maintained. The only minor downside was the sofa, which could benefit from replacement as there were some visible stains. However, this did not affect the overall comfort of our stay. The terrace overlooking the garden was definitely a nice bonus and added to the relaxing atmosphere. The buffet restaurant was excellent — truly worthy of a five-star hotel. Compared to other five-star buffets we have experienced, this one stood out for its quality, variety, and freshness. There was plenty of choice, and the themed evenings throughout the week (Greek night, BBQ, international themes, etc.) added great variety and made dining very enjoyable. The staff were genuinely warm, welcoming, and very helpful. A special mention goes to Irini, who served us daily with a constant smile and made us feel truly welcome — she clearly knows how to make guests feel at home. Also, a special thank you to the reception staff member who was on her very first day; despite being new, she was already doing an excellent job welcoming and assisting guests. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. We will definitely return to Crete in the future, as it is a beautiful island to explore, and we would very likely choose this hotel again.
