“Amazing week”

Out First time to Amira luxury but will definitely not be our last. What a lovely hotel, food was amazing and all the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Can’t wait to return.

We recently stayed at the Amira Luxury Resort in Adelianos Kampos, Rethymno with another couple and had a wonderful holiday overall. The hotel itself is stunning—very modern, beautifully designed, and immaculately maintained throughout. The pool and beach areas are excellent, with plenty of comfortable sunbeds and a relaxed atmosphere. Our room was particularly impressive: contemporary in design, exceptionally well appointed, and featured a shared pool, private sun loungers, and fantastic sea views. There was ample storage space, and the touchpad control system added a real luxury feel. The main buffet restaurant exceeded our expectations. Both breakfast and dinner offered a huge variety of high-quality dishes, with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. We were consistently impressed by the standard of the food and presentation. The location is another major plus. Rethymno Old Town is only around 10–15 minutes away by taxi, and arranging one is effortless through reception. There are also plenty of local tavernas, bars, shops, and restaurants within a short walk of the hotel, along with a couple of excellent beach bars right next door, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were one of the highlights of our stay. Housekeeping was excellent, the breakfast team were always warm and welcoming, and the concierge service was extremely helpful. A special mention must go to Maria on reception, who was incredibly efficient and professional. She arranged reservations for us before our arrival and even reconfirmed them once we checked in, without us needing to ask. Her attention to detail and customer service were outstanding. The only area that fell short was our experience around the pool. On our first day, we had a very disappointing lunch—the food was poor enough that our friends were offered a complimentary à la carte dinner as compensation. After that experience, we chose not to eat lunch at the hotel again and instead visited the excellent beach bar next door. We also found that a few members of the pool service team came across as somewhat abrupt or occasionally sarcastic. We don’t believe this was intentional, but it did feel at odds with the otherwise friendly and professional service we experienced elsewhere in the resort. Despite these minor negatives, we had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend Amira Luxury Resort. The beautiful facilities, excellent accommodation, great location, and outstanding service from most of the team made for a memorable and relaxing holiday

“Great hotel!! But the problems here are hotels geust reserving sunbeds in the morning & not following the dress code”

We stayed here from 22 June 2026 until 5 July 2026, which was our second visit. The first time we visited was in September, so we decided to experience the hotel during a different period. It turns out hotel geusts are reservering sunbeds every morning before they go to their breakfast!! First of all, the hotel staff are incredibly attentive, friendly, welcoming, and understanding. Everything I am about to mention has absolutely nothing to do with the staff. It is about the behaviour of some of the guests. From around 28 June, we noticed a significant change in the atmosphere. During the first few days, most guests were respectful and considerate. However, from 28 June onwards, many young German guests arrived, and unfortunately this brought a noticeable change in behaviour. There was a lot of rude, disrespectful, and inconsiderate behaviour, which affected the overall experience. We had booked a gazebo for the full two weeks, and in the end we were very glad we did. One morning we wanted to swim in the main pool for about ten minutes. We placed our belongings on a sunbed, and almost immediately a young woman approached us claiming it was "her" sunbed, even though there was no towel or any personal belongings on it. About 30 seconds later, her boyfriend joined the argument and decided to take matters into his own hands by throwing our personal belongings onto the ground.We immediately reported the incident to reception. Shortly afterwards, the young man followed us and began intimidating the reception staff, trying to tell them how they should handle the situation.The following day, one of the managers spoke with us and listened carefully to what had happened. Since I knew there were security cameras around the pool and reception area, the hotel reviewed the footage. The recordings clearly showed that the couple had behaved inappropriately and had no right to throw someone else's belongings onto the floor. The hotel staff handled the situation professionally and did everything they could to take appropriate action against the couple. We genuinely appreciated the effort they made. This was not a failure on the hotel's part, but simply the result of some guests behaving badly. I do believe the hotel could benefit from becoming an adults-only hotel (21+) instead of allowing guests from the age of 16. During our stay we also regularly saw young guests wearing clothing during the buffet that was not appropriate and did not show much respect for either the hotel's dress expectations or the local Greek culture. During check-in, guests are informed that reserving sunbeds is not allowed. Unfortunately, many people ignored this rule. Every morning we saw guests placing a towel on a sunbed before 9:00, going for breakfast, and only returning an hour later. This could easily be prevented by introducing a rule that sunbeds may not be reserved before 9:00 and enforcing it consistently. For guests who prefer a quieter atmosphere, fewer issues with sunbeds, and a more relaxed environment, I would recommend visiting before 28 June or during the September low season. Based on both of our stays, we found the atmosphere during those periods to be much calmer and more enjoyable with more classy respect full hotel geusts instead of having to deal with groups teenagers who showed little respect for other hotel guests and not respecting the hotels policys & dress code. Finally, we would like to sincerely thank the management for all their help and for making our stay as comfortable as possible. A special thank you goes to Mario, the Gazebo Supervisor, and Katrina, the Room Division Manager & Marria (also dutch speaking) , for their professionalism and kindness. We also want to express our respect for the receptionist who remained calm and professional despite being intimidated by the couple. Despite this unfortunate incident with other guests, the staff were outstanding, and we are grateful for the way they handled the situation. Even though this hotel is our number one choice, we will most likely avoid staying here for the next few years because the whole issue with reserving sunbeds seriously ruined our holiday. This is mainly caused by the type of guests staying at the hotel, combined with the fact that the staff generally do not start enforcing the rules until around 10:00 a.m. As a result, everyone reserves sunbeds because guests know that no one is checking before then. As I mentioned before, the only effective solution is to prohibit reserving sunbeds before 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. The rules are simply not enforced properly, and that is the reason we have decided not to book this hotel again for the time being. In the end, we paid a significant amount of money for our two-week stay. I have reported this problem in previous years as well, just like many other guests who are frustrated by this sunbed reservations even tough its not alloud.

“Modern friendly luxury hotel”

Great hotel, very clean and modern and our front sea view room had amazing sunrise and sunset views. Very chilled atmosphere and low key entertainment which is what we wanted. Service was really good and the staff were very efficient The only negative was the food, more like a 4 star in my opinion
