“Very enjoyable stay”

First time at this hotel and very suprised at the high standard. For anyone who goes to greece or the islands frequently you will know that standards vary such a lot and many of the older properties are in need of updating. The Ideon is a level above even the best hotels. Such comfortable beds ad amazingly good pillows. Great bathroom with super rainfall shower and jet shower and lovely thick towels. Super hairdryer and products in the bathroom were a great touch. Its been done to such a high standard but could just do with a couple of hooks to hang clothes or robes on when your using the bathroom. . Lots of wardrobe and drawer space, a kettle and a fridge. T V is new but the TV channels are limited we could only get many news channels BBC, CNN, French and German news but no film channel or kids channels either in english or with subtitles. The Swimming pool is not the biggest so no laps but its fine for cooling down and the jacuzzi is great to sit in and have a chat. There are plenty of sunbeds but fairly close together and i imagine in summer it gets pretty crowded but then you have a very long stretch of sandy beach within walking distance. The food for both the breakfast and dinner buffet was lovely with a good choice of hot or cold food. The service was amazing the staff work so hard and the team work is unreal they are like a ballet always quietly moving around each other and the table with such ease and so polite and helpful. The bar and reception area is lovely and you can sit and have a drink with a sea view. Prices a little high but I would expect that in a city and in such a beautiful hotel. Just a short walk from the hotel you are in town with a wealth of shops selling shoes, handbags, jewellery and gifts. A shoppers paradise and very tasteful not tacky like some resorts the world over. From the hotel you can also see the Fortress which was well worth a visit, such amazing history. Ive visited Rethymnon many times but this is the first time Ive stayed in a hotel in the city or in a hotel of such good quality. Id be happy to recommend the hotel to my family and friends.

“Highly recommended, great location”

This hotel was perfect for our family holiday. The staff were all attentive and friendly. Breakfast buffet was very efficiently managed with a good selection on offer. The location is also excellent, sea view and close to the old town. Highly recommended.

On 23 January 2020, the new Balearic Law against Tourism Excesses entered into force, which prohibits all-inclusive deals with unlimited alcoholic beverages. Only a maximum of three alcoholic beverages per guest will be served during lunch and/or dinner.
