“Great experience ”

Wonderful hotel, spacious rooms - we had a bungalow with a pool first row to the sea- a lot of choices to dine, plenty of sunbeds on the coast. Thank to lovely Katerina from reception and dear Manolis from the dining room, who did their best to make sure we enjoyed our visit.

Such a lovely hotel. We stayed in a waterfront family bungalow which was amazing, we didn't pay much for the upgrade but was really worth it. They have been renovated so everything very modern. Comfortable. Minibar refreshed once a week. Very big overall, one big main bedroom, small corridor with bathroom off the side with amazing shower leading to a lounge set up as twin bedroom. Both bedrooms had TVs. The grounds are beautiful and I think wherever you stay would be lovely. We really enjoyed the pools and the small splash park (our kids 6 and 4 so perfect for them). We didn't have a problem finding a lounger although people do reserve them early. Plenty available at the beaches though and smaller pools. The beaches are great for swimming with young children and there is enough sand for kids to have fun. But it is a mixture of stones and sand and we found it good to have water shoes to protect feet. Food was really good, particularly breakfast. Dinner was busy if you go early or late I think that is the quietest time. Lots of choice, but labelling of food could be improved. We ate at the Italian and Cretan restaurant as well and that was a more relaxing experience. Children enjoyed the kids club and mini disco. Also the little train that takes you to Panormo is good and that has a sandier beach. Location a little remote but the hotel has links to checkin Crete excursions, we booked to go to Knossos and Hereklion, which was really good. The little train also does two longer excursions and we did one to margrites pottery which we really enjoyed. For a week's holiday we found plenty to do and the kids would have been happy staying at the hotel all week, we didn't even do everything the hotel has to offer. Hotel also has a watersports company there so you can rent boats or go on a boat trip, paddle boarding etc there although we didn't use this facility. The best trip we did was the Santa Maria pirate ship from Panormo to Rethymno. Kids loved it and good way to see Rethymno (although not much time there) and chance to swim in the sea. We booked independently from hotel as hotel won't book anything they do not have links to. But in Panormos lots of information around trips. The main improvement for us would be a improvement of information in hotel room or on the TV service they have. It took us a while to work everything out and not sure we still know everything. Would love to come back again. Thank you.

With the exception of very few issues I had an excellent experience at Iberostar Creta Marine and especially the best Irish Coffee we had worldwide. I applaud the use of KNX automation for the electricity - I dabble in home automation and color me impressed. All in all I my stay at Iberostar Creta Marine exceeded my expectations.

“Fantastic stay once again”

Just returned home after another great 3 weeks. This was our 12th year at the cretamarine so l no need to say how good this or that was as it is always excellent. As usual all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and resolved any problems swiftly nothing was ever to much trouble for them. Earlier reviews had said people were queuing to get into the restaurant which l have never witnessed before. However by our 3rd week this changed after a new intake of guests who all seemed to want to have their meals at the same time causing a big queue for the restaurant. Also there was no problem with towels on sunbeds as this was also monitored for the first 2 weeks however this also went by the board on the 3rd week and you could not get a sunbeds after 08.30 as they all had towels on contrary to the signs on them. My only comment would be in future ensure the great standards of the hotel are across the board for everyone. We hope to see Julia and your great team again next year.
