Beautiful resort, immaculately kept, peaceful setting, and genuinely stunning views. So far, so five stars. Now for reality. The location is remote—let’s not dress it up. We wisely rented a car after reading previous reviews, which gave us some independence. That said, parking is offsite, and depending on where you’re staying, the walk back with luggage (or contraband snacks) can feel like a minor expedition. Why snacks? Because the food is, at best, uninspired. Think lukewarm, under-seasoned, and determinedly repetitive. If your idea of culinary adventure is wilted salad, fatty cuts of meat, and cheese that tastes of very little, you’ll be in heaven. Otherwise, you may find yourself eyeing the well-stocked on-site mini market—which is convenient, albeit enthusiastically priced. Paying around €5 for milk in an “all-inclusive” resort does raise a philosophical question or two. Entertainment is… minimalist. As a couple, we don’t need much, but the complete absence of atmosphere is notable. No music, no energy, no sense that anyone is particularly pleased you’ve arrived. It’s a beautiful stage set with no performance. There is a shuttle to the resort’s beach (free), and one to the old town (€11), which is absolutely worth visiting—excellent food, shops, and a much-needed change of pace. Just be prepared to plan your day around the timetable. A few practical points from our experience: Pool towels require a €20 deposit (refundable, and exchangeable). Plenty of sunbeds overall, though the prime spots near Bar Desi are “reserved” from dawn with impressive commitment. Drinks are strictly all-inclusive from 11am to 11pm. Outside those hours, or if you simply want flexibility, you’ll be paying (e.g., €3.90 for a small cola). Bringing drinks into the restaurant is not permitted, and this rule is enforced with notable enthusiasm. Soft drinks are available—when the syrup hasn’t run out. Beer and wine are on tap when operational. Service is polite but distant. There’s little sense of warmth or engagement, more a feeling that guests are being efficiently processed. Rules, however, are enforced with great energy—particularly around seating and drinks—so there’s at least consistency there. The resort markets itself as five-star. In its current form, it feels closer to a decent three-star with excellent infrastructure but limited execution. The potential is obvious; the delivery less so. To end on a fair note: the grounds, rooms, pools, cleanliness, and Wi-Fi are all genuinely strong. The housekeeping team, in particular, do an excellent job keeping everything spotless and well-presented. Overall, it feels like someone had a very good idea for a resort—but stopped just short of figuring out how to run one.

On arrival at 2.30am, flight was late 🙄, this was our 3rd visit to this hotel, unfortunately my husband booked the wrong room, we usually have a private plunge pool, but we were shown to the first room which had mould on the walls and smelt funny so my husband went back to reception and explained, that the room was damp and that we had made a mistake and booked the wrong room, the very rude receptionist told us that if we weren’t happy to go and find somewhere else and that they were fully booked!!!! Also told my husband to go and calm down, he was polite and calm, and the receptionist then said she was very tired!!!!! We were given another room, which had no damp but still told no rooms with pools were available, obviously we said we would pay the difference but she insisted the hotel was full, the hotel was half empty, lots of free pool rooms, she just didn’t want to help. Food was ok, nothing special and we knew the location of the hotel, so a hire care is essential if you want to go and see places, lovely beaches, saw turtles in the fresh water later and most of the people were lovely, except the receptionist!!!
