This has to be the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The buildings (2) are directly opposite one another over a narrow alley in the old town. Renovated to a high standard they retain a lot of original features. The bed was so comfortable - if you have mobility issues however check with the hotel as my room had several steps within it and the bed was on a mezzanine level. I loved it as it was very quirky but may be difficult for some. The breakfast was fresh, varied and plentiful. The thing that really set the hotel apart however was the staff. Without fail they were friendly and attentive. I hesitate to mention particular names as I cannot remember them all but Elena, Georgia and Nico come to mind. I was travelling with a friend and we both felt incredibly pampered. The massage treatment was also great. It was the perfect hotel for us - small, friendly, luxurious and definitely not large and soulless. Can’t wait to return.

“Perfect stay”

It was too cold to swim and I was bummed.. the pools were amazing!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

“A friendly and relaxed hotel”

We spent a week at the Rimondi Boutique Hotel in Rethymno for our honeymoon, and we had a very good experience there. We were warmly welcomed by reception and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble - when we asked about the possibility of changing to a different room because our original room was opposite a noisy bar (playing loud music until 1am), we were offered an alternative room at no additional cost. Technically the new room was a downgrade in terms of being less modern, but it was ideal for us, much quieter and tucked away next to the courtyard and pool. The relaxing piano music playing in the courtyard each day from breakfast until 10pm was a lovely touch. The breakfast buffet each morning was excellent, with a large selection of hot drinks, juices, breads and cakes, hot food (eggs, bacon, beans etc), fruit, and sweet options including rice pudding and cheesecake. The housekeeping staff also did a thorough job, tidying our room and swapping out our towels for fresh ones daily. The only very minor downside with our room was that we had to physically hold the shower head every time we showered, and because there was no shower screen or curtain, it was a bit tricky trying to shower without spraying the entire bathroom! The location of the hotel in the Old Town made it easy to find tavernas to eat at, with lots of options just a short walk away. Other facilities at the hotel included a spa and laundry service, however we didn't make use of these during our stay. Overall we had a very positive experience at the Rimondi and would recommend it to anyone staying in the Rethymno area. We hope to come back again one day!

“Lovely hotel, just need to keep the noise down!”

Without question a lovely little Boutique hotel in the middle of Old Town, up a quiet street, but yet accessible to everything. Without question a lovely little Boutique hotel in the middle of Old Town, up a quiet street, but yet accessible to everything. Only 10-15 minute walk to beach and surrounded by a restaurant for every day of the year. Executive Room on the Palazzo side of the Hotel was nice enough, comfortable bed and good shower but very little drawer/wardrobe space, had to live out of suitcase for the week. Nice private balcony that was much better than many others. Beach towels provided daily and massage treatments available via a mobile treatment company who come into the hotel by appointment. The only real criticism was the cleaning/breakfast staff at 7am ish every morning .. outside rooms talking at the tops of their voices, kicking buckets, dragging tables, clunking cutlery .. the town was reasonably quiet but the staff were not .. so you were awake at 7am, whether you liked it or not. Apart from that, would happily stay again as it’s so convenient.
