Crete is a beautiful Island and The Royal Blue in Panormo is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The rooms, facilities and staff are second to none - particularly the staff were so helpful. A great private beach and a selection of wonderful swimming pools to suit everyone. The buffet is magnificent in both quality and selections on offer - a real triumph. A car is useful to discover the great sights around and about. We will be making this our "go to" holiday hotel. A wonderful stay. Thoroughly recommended.

Visually looks beautiful and very authentic, food in the main restraunt can be hit or miss and even though youve paid for either full/half please expect to pay extra for (drinks 5/6 euros for a coke) the staff are friendly enough but the hotel itself lacks staff numbers leading to the table your sat at not being fully kitted out ready for you, you will see the same staff members day and night seven days a week meaning they have no rest themselves. The private beach is very nice and the staff are extremely friendly , the beds are comfy and the water is crystal clear an all round nice atmosphere. The rooms are not to bad but can be on the small side, our room was infested with ants towards the afternoon but we were not around enough for it to bother us. The onsite shop is extremely helpful and stocks everything you need, taxis to and from the hotel are extremely good and work on time. In our opinion just about makes a 4 star hotel.

5* Rated. Deserved in some areas but not others. Pools are good lots of them. Kids loved the aqua park. Family rooms are OK but odd arrangement. Toilet and shower separate cubicles, sinks in main room. Wardrobe space is adequate but no drawers just cupboards, some already full of bedding. Breakfast… more

5* Rated. Deserved in some areas but not others. Pools are good lots of them. Kids loved the aqua park. Family rooms are OK but odd arrangement. Toilet and shower separate cubicles, sinks in main room. Wardrobe space is adequate but no drawers just cupboards, some already full of bedding. Breakfast wide ranging. Other meals paid for are very expensive eg 2 adult pizzas chips 2 child meals soft drinks 115 euros ( yes not a misprint). Many serving staff are inexperienced and got the order wrong on several occasions. Gym,spa and classes all great. Lovely resident trainer. The location makes a captive audience as there are no walking distance restaurants and only one shop. The nearest very quaint village for eating out is 3km by taxi. Lovely weather though.

We used Royal Blue as overnight stopover; having taken long flight. I checked in at 18:00 and out at 08:00 the next morning. Quite a protracted and lengthy check in. Going into great detail to explain facilities such as the spa, sauna and pools (that close at 19:00). None of which I even intended to use (or could use) in my short overnight stay. But most bizarre of all was the insistence of the receptionist to obtain our room number as we walked though reception this morning. I have never been asked to provide a room number to walk through reception in any hotel in the world, nor in my life. Guests should be free to walk through a hotel reception without being required to provide their room number. I could have understood their ask if I was checking out; or if I approached the reception.... Otherwise, a nice place to stay with great food choices and quality.
