“Gorgeous zen hotel, really kind staff!”

We loved our 9 days here - the pools were beautiful with a gorgeous view out to the sea, the pool bar delicious (especially the club sandwich which we shared around 5 times!). The rooms were lovely and the area had so many nice restaurants in a walking distance. We loved the staff especially - in particular Dimi and Marios on reception. Dimi was the sweetest angel ever and a real credit to the hotel! Marios was also great, who did the transfers to the beach (lovely beach btw, we went 3 times and loved it!). Great holiday, we feel really relaxed after such a nice time.

This was our second holiday at this adults only Vassia Sea Retreat, and once again, it more than met our expectations. From the fabulous sea view suite, to the amazing buffet breakfasts with freshly squeezed juices, made to order Americanos and Cappuccinos, fresh fruit, hot breakfast items and everything in between. The pool is a great size, with more than enough solid wood sun beds with thick mattresses for first class comfort. No sun-bed wars here. The hotel makes it perfectly clear that sun bed saving is not allowed. No manic scramble at a ridiculous hour makes for a truly relaxed atmosphere. Ideally located for the short walk to the picturesque harbour, and the genuinely Greek atmosphere of Sissi, it really is the best. The hotel provides a curtesy bus to the local beach, which is picturesque, clean and well organised. The Manager Marios is on hand 24/07. He is consummate professional, reflected in his hard working, friendly and helpful team. Having travelled to many places over the years, I don’t often return to a location, but Vasia Sea Retreat, has my heart. I cannot wait to return. .

Our first visit to Crete, for the Vasia itself the staff are lovely, so happy & friendly! The hotel is clean and met our needs for a relaxing week long holiday. The room was spacious with plenty of storage for 2 people. There was ample sun beds around all 3 pools every day, the sound and view of the sea was a delight! Breakfast was a buffet with à la carte drinks service and a small selection of food such as poached eggs or omelette. The gardens are maintained daily, with beautiful flowers and greenery. We were on a bed & breakfast basis, popping to the local shop for some lunch basics & drinks which were stored in our small room fridge, we are so pleased we did this and then walked out into the village for our evening meals as there is so much choice offering traditional Greek family tavernas (you must make the effort to visit Neromilos, it was the star of the show & the best experience of our week!) there was also lovely spots near the sea to eat or drink & enjoy the evenings sunset which was spectacular every night. We would recommend Sissi, and Vasia Sea Retreat for anyone looking for a relaxing quiet peaceful break in Greece!

This is further to Corinne's previous review. Firstly the staff are all lovely. Hmmm, the "mountain view"? Much more accurately described as a junkyard view. We asked ourselves whether we wanted to look at that from our balcony, and swallowed the 450 euro upgrade to a maisonette. It was still cheaper than if we had upgraded via our tour operator. Glad we did it although it probably wouldn't have been an option in high season. It was very clean and spacious. It had a whirlpool which we didn't use as it was a bit overlooked and it was chilly in May. The most important thing was the lovely view across Malia Bay - especially pretty at night when lit up. Breakfast was great. Didn't use the restaurant other than that. We used the pool snackbar once and it was fine. Finally the "wellness" and spa experience facilities that were prominently advertised by our operator. They don't exist. They're supposed to be available from the nearby Vasia Resort and Spa, but it was a building site when we were there (pictured). The alternatives offered were in other resorts, with one being almost a one hour round trip away. This sort of thing honestly makes my blood boil and we're taking it further. I felt sorry for the staff who had to explain this to visitors.
