“Spacious and super nice villa”

We enjoyed the villa and the great service from Spiridoula. The villa was super clean and modern and the view amazing. The only negative was that the pool was most of the day in the shade. The breakfast was ok but one better purchases some fresh bread.

We stayed one night at one of the beautiful Arota Villas on Santorini in August. We were as group of four friends. We loved the villa, the quality of rooms and common areas, great kitchen, high quality of equipment and last but not least beautiful modern design and fantastic views (distinguished even among many other superb Santorini views). The location is somewhat remote and requires car rental in my view however there are numerous great village restaurants nearby which deliver food on phone order. There are a few nice and relatively empty beaches and lovely beach restaurants within 5-10 min drive. This is an excellent location if someone is with friends or family and wants to avoid beautiful but crowded cliff side hotel villages of Oia, Thira etc on the other end of the island. Last but not least appreciation for the level of service from Spirodoula who looked after us while we were staying at Arota. if we return to Santorini we will definitively stay at one of the Arota Villas.

“What a Shame !”

The villa is truly beautiful—very spacious, with a breathtaking view—and the photos on Booking accurately reflect reality. Its northern exposure, made it very exposed to the wind, which unfortunately limited our use of the terrace and the pool. Of course, this is due to the weather, and I cannot hold anyone responsible for it, but it is a pity that no part of the terrace is sheltered from the wind. Breakfast is quite good. That being said, I found the general maintenance of the villa somewhat below expectations. The daily cleaning is rather superficial, with some recurring oversights such as empty shower gel bottles left behind, breakfast remains not cleared away from the previous day, or hairs left in the same place for several days, The undersides of the tables are not cleaned. The electrical meter, which had already tripped before, kept tripping nonstop surin thé stay. There are also stains on the floor in the ground-floor bedroom and bathroom that probably cannot be cleaned anymore. On the ground floor, the lower parts of the air conditioners show rust, as does the towel holder in the bathroom. I had reported that the bathroom sink tap on the ground floor had no hot water, but it was not resolved during the stay. Upstairs, the left bedroom window has an uncovered top section, which makes it impossible to sleep once the sun rises, as the light shines directly into the room. We had to tape paper over it to mitigate the problem. On three occasions, the cleaning staff—who are otherwise very kind—also left the upstairs patio doors unlocked while we were away. The maintenance staff, who have a storage room on the side of the villa, were very noisy early in the morning and also not very discreet during the day. In addition, there are numerous white stains from seagull droppings on the façade, and several times I had to run after the mattresses to prevent them from blowing away, even though I had requested that they be secured. This gives an impression of a certain lack of attention. In summary, while the villa is indeed superb, the service and upkeep unfortunately detract a little from the overall experience. Considering the price charged (1600€/night) I must admit I was a little disappointed by these issues. On top of that, there was no flexibility when it came to checking out a little later, even if I was willing to pay an additional fee. Lastly, thes manager’s attitude is a bit arrogant. At this price level, one can reasonably except excellence without being looked down upon by a hotel employee, Who should be more humble in their interactions with guests.
