We stayed early May and Astra was a perfect hotel.Its a great walk to Fira and just a perfect position for local restaurants. The views are incredible, we loved our studio room, where the bed is on a mezzanine floor. Perfect for us. The pool was lovely too and the bar, plus the staff were all lovely, from the cleaners through to the manager George. Although we did not have great weather we were lucky to have an afternoon in the sun and some lunch brought to our patio area, which was amazing! I would love to return, it was truly a special place and early May was a great time to go without the crowds. Just a tiny side note, our room had an adjoining patio to our neighbours, but we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy the outside space on our own.

I spent three nights at Astra Suites and did not want to leave. Everything and everyone was exceptional. Every morning eating a sumptuous breakfast on the balcony with a caldera view that changed as the sun moved across the sky. Special shoutout to Katrina who greeted me each morning with a smile and warm wishes for the day. The reception staff (Kate, Loukia and Olga) were friendly, warm and helpful. As a solo female traveler I felt safe and very well cared for during my stay. The room was great with a comfortable bed, heat for the cooler nights and twice daily housekeeping. The beetroot goat salad was delicious. I will come back (I hope) for the incredible view, warm staff and peaceful, relaxed atmosphere. This is the place to enjoy Santorini away from the crowds.

“Amazing experience”

My wife and I had an amazing experience at Astra. The views, facilities, and amenities are top tier, but it was the service that put it over the top. Highly recommended and we hope to come back soon!

We stayed at Astra Suites for three nights in one of their more economical suites, and the experience exceeded every expectation. Our suite was a loft-style studio with a cozy living area, wet bar, and bathroom on the lower level, and an open upstairs loft with a king bed. The space is narrow but very tall, designed with calming, serene tones that make it feel peaceful and comfortable. What truly sets the room apart, though, is the view. From the moment you open the front door to stepping onto your private veranda, you’re greeted with uninterrupted caldera views, just endless water and sky. You can even see Oia off to the right. It’s simply breathtaking. The location is ideal, perched directly in front of Skaros Rock, the medieval castle area, with easy access to scenic hikes toward Fira, Oia, and Skaros itself. It’s perfect if you want both tranquility and the ability to explore. Breakfast each morning was a highlight. You fill out a menu the night before with your preferred delivery time, and it’s served right on your private patio. The selection is generous, we were able to choose multiple entrées per person along with breads, cakes, jams, and more. Everything was fresh, varied, and absolutely delicious. One thing to note, the outdoor breakfast area is shared between neighboring rooms, so if the suite next door is occupied, you may be dining fairly close to other guests. We were fortunate to have that space to ourselves during our stay, which made it feel even more private. The hotel sits in what feels like one of the most privileged spots along the caldera. There are only a handful of properties in this exact area, and the views here are truly next level. It’s hard to overstate just how stunning and unforgettable they are. The on-site restaurant offers very good food, though it is definitely on the pricey side, you’re paying for that incredible view. That said, there are plenty of other dining options and small markets just a short walk up the steps. What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. The evening team, especially Kate and her colleague, along with Katharina in the mornings, were outstanding. They were attentive, warm, and incredibly helpful, always ready with recommendations and genuinely focused on making our stay special. We honestly don’t have a single negative thing to say. This was a fantastic experience from start to finish, and we would absolutely return.
