Came to this hotel with 3 other families fro celebrate a friend’s birthday. It could not have been more perfect. Small but not too small to have full service, lovely pool and bar area and friendly staff. Our two bedroom suite was beautiful, with a huge terrace and stunning views. Shower tiny but you get a hot tub on the roof which was lovely. People have moaned about breakfast which I don’t quite get. Yes it’s simple fare but homemade cakes and savoury dishes are a nice touch. Location is perfect. One minute from the beach and some brilliant beach clubs like Nissaxi where we spent a lot of time. A pleasant 10/15 min walk from the old town along the beach. Staff incredibly accommodating to our group and were happy to serve us a nightcap whenever we wandered back to the hotel before midnight. Kids loved the place and felt very safe and happy there. It’s not a high end luxury option but it’s a happy, family run hotel in a perfect location.

“Wonderful relaxing small beach resort”

Really enjoyed our stay! We were upgraded to a junior suite with a beautiful outdoors seating area overlooking the pool area and the room was spacious, modern, and clean. Loved the breakfast buffet which had so many delicious options! The location right on the beach was gorgeous and we walked into town several times to eat dinner and shop, which was an easy walk along the boardwalk of the beach. This is a resort you come to rest, relax, and restore!

Everything about the Naxos hotel (Alkyoni) was wonderful. The room was actually far more modern than we would have expected or normally like, but it was lovely. The staff was great, buffet breakfast had variety, the room and HUGE balcony had a wonderful view and lovely seating. Some people might consider the walk to old town too far (25-30 minutes), but we were fine (71 years old). There was a nice beach very close to the hotel; beach beds and umbrellas were available at an adjacent restaurant for 20 euros/we just used our towels on the beach.

“Pigeons annoying and need basic upkeep”

When we first arrived it had many pigeons around the pool and the sun beds had a lot of their droppings on it from them perching in trees overhead. I wish we could say that we would have really been happy with our stay at this hotel. When we first arrived it had many pigeons around the pool and the sun beds had a lot of their droppings on it from them perching in trees overhead. There aren’t enough sun beds for the amount of guests. Good luck finding beds. Found that the property lacks maintenance. Rusted out faucets, table/umbrella stands need painting, twigs all around pool water vents and only cleaned once at the end of the day. Also wasps around the vents so be careful not to step or sit at the edge of the pool and get stung. Some basic paint touch up’s and cleaning around the pool would make it so much nicer. Breakfast was ok. Tang orange juice. Coffee/cappucino was from a machine so pretty watered down. They made some homemade cakes which were nice. I’m not a picky person but when you’re charged high prices then I expect the grounds to be more well kept. We liked our room and were very comfortable. On our last day our room was not cleaned. No reason given just that our room # had a blank beside it on the housekeeping log. ??? What does that mean? We were three in a room and wanted to in the very least have the floor swept and cleaned, fresh towels and garbages emptied but they said cleaning staff went home for the day so they couldn’t do anything so “sorry”. The afternoon/evening man at reception tried to say the staff said our light was on red when we clearly had a green “please clean room tag on our door handle” and was still on our door when we returned at 4pm. Was never told when checking in what the 3 buttons outside your door meant but we did have a clean my room door hanger. My husband wanted to nap when we got back to the room instead of having to deal with all this. I saw the cleaning lady in the lobby waiting to be picked up for the day but instead of having her go clean our room, they just said he could give us towels. Unacceptable for almost $500 Cdn per night! About an hour later they told us that at 6pm a maid would come and clean the room. Great timing to interfere with wanting to relax in our rooms and not being able to as well as not being able to get ready for the night. You only get one key for the room which is really inconvenient when sharing with more than one person. Location is ok but right at the end of the strip and furthest place from main town. Owner was pleasant and coordinated transfers which we appreciated but all in all would not stay again. Compared to our last stay in Naxos, this hotel really impacted our stay and made it unpleasant.
