We had a very warm welcome at Aeolis Tinos Suites, with helpful, friendly and responsive receptionists. The site was attractive, well laid-out with beautiful views, although it was accessible up an extremely steep slope. Different areas of the site were connected by pathways, slopes and steps, which would have been difficult for someone with mobility issues - but as the location was on a mountainside, this was hardly surprising! Rooms were very clean and well-equipped and we found the beds extremely comfortable. It was quite difficult to control the temperature of water in the showers, with the water becoming scaldingly hot quite suddenly. Breakfast staff were variable, and sometimes slow to bring coffee; we always had to ask for refills. Some tables were offered omelettes (in additional to the hot buffet); in 5 nights we were never asked if we'd like these. The quality and variety of food on offer for breakfast was quite good. The quality of food on the dinner menu was excellent, and staff were good, but we were disappointed to find that only Italian food was on offer, and no Greek food was available. Furthermore, we were only able to order pasta dishes as the pizza restaurant was being refurbished. Lastly, if you stay here, don't miss the village of Triandaros. The hotel is on the edge of the village, and it's well worth wandering round there.

Hotel is beautifully situated on the hillside with a stunning view over the Chora and sea. We stayed in a junior suite. Well furnished and equipped. Plenty of wardrobe/storage space. Little kitchenette if you want to prepare a simple meal. Pillows though we're too hard foe my liking. Bathroom was little on the small side. Good quality thick towels and walk in shower but with a shower curtain rather than door, which I'm not keen on. Bathrobe, slippers and toiletries provided. Our room rate included breakfast which was very good but became a little boring as there were no rotations of food options - even the fruit was the same every day. Car is essential (and be prepared for the very steep driveway into the hotel) as there are no amenities within walking distance and aside from the small infinity pool, there are no other facilities at the hotel. All the staff are young twentysomethings in keeping with the contemporary style of the hotel and are keen to please. The only significant disappointment was the restaurant food, which was poor and quite expensive as were drinks (reviewed separately). Overall we had a great stay and Tinos is an appealing and peaceful island to visit with enough to keep you busy (if you have a car) for a few days.

A lovely hotel that didn't live up to the picture perfect marketing in too many ways. What should've been a top-notch experience left us disappointed. The Aeolis Tinos Suites are visually stunning to see from a distance, set high in the hills of Tinos, with access to all the suites being outside with the feel of a small hamlet of closely arranged accommodation. The pool area, in particular, looks stunning as the view from the edge of the pool extends into the distance across to the next island. We had the same view from our suite - and I imagine other suites are the same/similar given the orientation of the hotel on the hillside. Suite - very spacious, with the great view over the island through sliding double glass doors. The bedroom was comfortable and tastefully decorated with art and ornaments. The bathroom was large and the shower effective. We had a very positive 'wow' experience entering the room, but that was quickly spoilt by way too many things wrong with the room. The wardrobe furniture was from a well known cheap Swedish brand, certainly not designed for commercial use, and obviously showing that with misaligned doors and broken shelving. The room safe didn't work, despite a couple of visits from staff to try to resolve; I guess they gave up as they promised someone would attend while we were out of the room, but we never heard anything again. This was a pain having to carry passports etc with us whenever we left the hotel. Initially we had no hot water to the room, although this was promptly resolved when we complained. The toilet flusher was partially broken, meaning it was a fiddly process just to flush! The bathroom door wouldn't close without a lot of banging, it'd clearly had some water damage at some point and warped. Oh, and the TV didn't work - I think the remote control battery was dead, but we'd given up complaining at that point. Overall, the room felt like we were the first visitors of the season and no-one had bothered to check/maintain it for the coming year. Staff - the reception staff were friendly, although I'd not say there gave off a particularly professional feel that I'd expect for a hotel of this quality. Conversely, the maître d' in the restaurant was fantastic; she was attentive, friendly and provided the level of service you'd expect from a top restaurant in a cosmopolitan city centre. Food - the buffet breakfast was a bit mixed, with no real focus; it turned out it was possible to order various breakfast items alongside the buffet, but this wasn't made clear by the check-in staff and no menus were available on the tables. The evening menu was varied and enjoyable -- very good food cooked and presented extremely well. At this point, I would've probably given the hotel the benefit of the doubt and provided 4 out of 5 rating, but... there was a private party they were hosting on one of the days we stayed. It was a lovely extended/large family celebration for a baptism. However, because of this, the main areas of the hotel - the pool and the restaurant areas were inaccessible to us from late afternoon until the party finished late that day. This was disappointing - as a relaxing/holiday hotel, access to the pool was a big part of our own holiday, and we couldn't use it. Nor could we eat in the hotel restaurant that evening, although room service was still available. As the party continued, the music noise got louder and louder, clearly audible from within our suite, disturbing us until the midnight finish.
