“Amazing time in Parga”

After being a bit nervous for booking the Alea resort with very few recent reviews, we absolutely loved our holiday from start to finish! Parga is stunning - we love Lindos in Rhodes so we’re looking for a similar beautiful resort and we certainly found it in Parga. We knew before we went that it was a little further from the centre but we are quite an active family with 2 very young children (1 and 4) and as long as you are fine with walking up hills (and know to expect this), it was fine- we didn’t even use the shuttle once! When you come out the resort and take the right turn off the main road, it was about a 5-10 minute walk (roadside) to the Med restaurant and then from there there was paths (and less vehicles) with stunning views of the castle and beach and we walked down the steps by the castle to the harbour for dinner every night. In terms of a 3 star self catering resort in Greece, I thought it was much nicer than most I’ve stayed in before. We had all the equipment needed (for breakfast and lunch), washing up liquid, a tea towel and even a washing line on the balcony. The balconies were huge with the most beautiful views. We loved the pool and felt like it was very clean- perhaps the poolside could have done with a mop every night but other than that we couldn’t fault the resort. They were helpful and assisted us when we needed a highchair/cot for the room. We’d definitely return to Parga and wouldn’t hesitate to book the Alea resort again! Thanks for such an amazing time.

“Very good shame about the bar”

We had a good room with a beautiful view was always clean shower door didn't shut mini bus was a plus not a bad walk down to town but too steep to walk back always got a taxi back as bus was too early only negative about the hotel was the bar it shut far too early in the afternoon and was also shut… more

We had a good room with a beautiful view was always clean shower door didn't shut mini bus was a plus not a bad walk down to town but too steep to walk back always got a taxi back as bus was too early only negative about the hotel was the bar it shut far too early in the afternoon and was also shut at night before we left for a night out at 19 00 which we found strange shame as for us was a big negative for us to meet up and chill parga is a beautiful place shame about the bar wouldn't take much to open more if you like to stay around the hotel at night it's dead no atmosphere shame as the accomodations nice

“Lovely location......”

We returned to Alea Resort, last visiting 3 years ago. There is so much to like about this accommodation. Very clean, towels and bedding changed every couple of days. A safe is available at no cost. We paid 8euro per night for air-conditioning which we appreciated. Lovely pool and the location give… more

We returned to Alea Resort, last visiting 3 years ago. There is so much to like about this accommodation. Very clean, towels and bedding changed every couple of days. A safe is available at no cost. We paid 8euro per night for air-conditioning which we appreciated. Lovely pool and the location gives the most stunning views. We paid for breakfast for a couple of days which was really good with plenty of choice and well presented. Depending on which room you are in, there are a few steps so this should be borne in mind. The shuttle bus is very handy and we used it many times to Valtos beach and into the town on an evening. We also walked down through the Old Town which is a lovely walk and helps to keep the calories off :) We had no problem getting taxis back on an evening. We had a lovely holiday.....however..... there have been some changes since our last visit. Food is now only available until 1430 and the bar closes at 1500 which rules out the option to stay, eat and relax at the accommodation on an evening. Unless you cook yourself. The nearest super market is a long walk so difficult to nip out and get some goodies if you do decide to stay in. For us this also impacted the atmosphere of the place, no holiday vibe. No option to have a drink before going out, no option to meet other guests and learn about their holidays, where they have eaten, make new friends. No option to come back early and have a couple of drinks before bed. For us the bar is the social hub of any holiday accommodation whether you drink or not and seeing the shutters down wasn't good. All this said we had a lovely holiday.

“Nice location - bit tired in service and facilities”

We stayed at the Parga Princess last year and used the pool at the Alea so thought it would be good to try it. This part of Parga on the ‘hip’ between Valtos and castle is our favourite because of the option to choose. The pool area is excellent but - the sunbed mattresses are dirty and stained and the bar opening times and levels of service are very hit and miss. Our room had a beautiful view from the balcony and was tranquil and quiet - furniture inside was very basic and in need of an upgrade - we’ve never been in a room where air con is an extra cost! The shower cubicle has no hook for the shower so needs to be handheld! The bus to town and beach is useful but again very restrictive with times. It’s a 5 min journey so put more trips on! Overall we had a fantastic holiday again in Parga. Would we return to the Alea probably not.
