This hotel is one of three Mitsis hotels in a row on the same beach & it appears that guests are free to move between them. The food quality & choice was poor with repetitive meals daily with few changing options in the main buffet. The a la carts restaurants were better but still not 5 star. Entertainment was virtually non existent in the evenings. Staff were ok but not very friendly or welcoming with the exception of reception. We succumbed to norovirus which was sweeping the hotel & neighbouring hotels. We felt that there should have been some notification of this to ensure guests were vigilant with hygiene. Insufficient sunbeds by the infinity pools with the inevitable reserving of beds despite notices suggesting that it wasn’t allowed & that belongings would be removed but this never happened. Overall a disappointing experience which didn’t meet 4 star levels let alone 5 star,

When you walk into the lobby it looks wow. The staff are all polite and friendly, if you go to the bar for a drink they say please sit and I will bring it to you. The rooms are clean and well presented. We had a shower filter blocked and water over flowing into the toilet but they came to fix it the next day Some cleaners are better than others. It seems easier for some to mop the whole room before they consider sweeping away the dust first, so it just gets moved around the room. The mini fridge is constantly daily around lunchtime refilled. But we didn’t use it much other than drink water as we were both so poorly with a sick bug for around a week. A lot of the hotel guests were poorly with vomiting or diarrhoea. And if you haven’t taken any anti-sickness tablets with you and Imodium, you will have to get on a bus which is a 20 minute journey to the chemist and then get the bus back to Kardemena. George who was in charge of a bar downstairs supplied us with camomile honey ginger teas to ease our sickness along with Marina. Don’t know what we would have done without their kindness. The food in the main restaurant was lukewarm warm and a lot of us who were ill believed it to be the food that wasn’t kept hot. Staff in restaurant front of house were lovely and nothing too much trouble. There are 130 steps from the reception area to the beach and if you are not fit your quads will hurt. The beach is stone and pebbles, ouch , wear good shoes. Sea looks beautiful and daily people were swimming with snorkels watching the beautiful collection of fish. The outdoor swimming pools had green algae around the edges which didn’t look inviting. Sunloungers were comfortable by the pool and on the beach as so thick. Several bars on the beach, staff were always coming along and collecting glasses once your drink was finished and keeping the areas tidy. I’m used to clearing away after myself so I often took my empty glass back as I’m not used to being waited on. This was our first experience of all inclusive. The staff work hard and such long hours and months at a time but never complain in front of you, always so polite and always smartly dressed around the hotel and grounds. If it hadn’t been for the poor quality food it would have been graded higher. Maybe new hot plates need ordering for next season

We had a double sea view front room, the views go on and on for days at this hotel, the rooms are clean and spacious with a lovely walk in shower and the balcony view is breathtaking. Open the double doors and take it all in. The main restaurant is the huge let down, Luke warm food (from when they open) flies and pink uncooked meat. Two out of three of us were ill on our stay here. Whether it was a bug or food no one will know, but we know how poor that restaurant is. Not 5* and a massive shame compared to the restaurants you can book. Mitis you need to bring the restaurant in line with the bookable restaurants. They should all be 5* quality and they certainly are not. We managed to book all restaurants before we arrived on the mitsis app. Download it! The difference in food quality in the same hotel is very sad and shouldn't be happening. Download the app and book the restaurants before you arrive. We have certainly stayed in better 4* hotels. The location of the hotel is at the tip of kardemenda you will have to book taxis to get out and can't walk there. It's in a massive complex with norida, domes and family palace (I wish I had known this before we booked) We had a lovely meal out on our last night at a local restaurant and we were sorry we didn't book something closer in the village to stay. The nicest meal of the week for us all, my first for 4 days. Positives A view from the room ❤️ Access to a private beach, shingle Beach with opportunities for snorkeling 🤿 Lovely comfy sun beds. Rooms cleaned daily and towels changed and pool towels. Happy, lovely cleaning maids. Negatives We didn't come across many happy staff. Nothing for children here. I mean nothing! Don't book if you have children. Main restaurant awful. Drinks all local sprits no premium spirits. Paper thin walls. If you have booked a private plunge pool, they are completely overlooked. So far out from the town. A special mention to the staff in the med restaurant especially Alexis, safe travels back to the Philippines. Overall, a trip we won't make again.
