Booked this holiday as a surprise for my wife for our 40th anniversary and it was absolutely brilliant. We arrived late at night and were greeted by Vassia and her mum who took us straight to our room which was great after a long journey. The room was really spacious, nicely decorated, with a fully equipped kitchen and a stylish bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the smart TV with Netflix kept us entertained a few evenings. Falling asleep to the sound of the sea was lovely . The pool area is beautiful with plenty of sunloungers and seating, lots of trees and flowers, and it was nice and peaceful. Staying somewhere with just six apartments made it feel calm and private which we really enjoyed it. The owners are fantastic and always around if you need any tips or help. We had food and drinks and everything was excellent. My wife loves Cosmopolitans and these were easily the best we have ever had. It is a very special place, clearly created with a lot of care and love. The beach is only a few steps away, there are plenty of restaurants nearby and they also provide sun loungers if you order food or drinks which we found very handy. We stayed for nine days and every single day was wonderful. It was the perfect place to celebrate our 40th anniversary and we would highly recommend it.

I'm writing this while staying at VA Boutique apartments and Suites. I'm rather embarrassed by the review I came across below. In Britain, themed décor and art are truly appreciated, and here , it's clear everywhere you look. One of the main reasons I booked was for the property's unique artistic flair and aesthetic, a proper hidden gem tucked away in a little corner of Greece . The hotel is filled with paintings, flowers, and wonderful artworks. I wouldn't even call myself an artistic person, yet the whole place feels like a living piece of art . It's a place to unwind and completely lose yourself in a magical world of art and beauty. The rooms are fantastic, massive, full of character, with everything you might need, and a beautiful bathroom. The hosts are always warm and welcoming, with smiles and positivity, ready to assist with anything you might need. Lianna's cooking is simply divine, from the simplest dishes to the traditional moussaka. The menu runs from 9 AM to 7 PM ,and classic dishes such as sofrito or moussaka are available on request. The cocktails are excellent, generously poured and full of flavour. This place has genuinely captured my heart. I cannot wait to return and wander through the Secret Garden once more. I 'm truly sad to be leaving, but I will definitely come back!

We recently returned from these apartments and firstly I have to say that the family who own the apartments are the best hosts I have ever had and I have had some lovely hosts in Greece. We were warmly welcomed by Leanna and Vassina her daughter and quickly taken to our apartment 'Nostalgia' after check in , which is done at the pool bar. My review is purely based on my own personal opinion and I appreciate that everyone has their own views on aesthetics etc. Vassina is the artist and she is very talented. I am not artistic so maybe I don't appreciate her hard work but that's fine as we are all different. For me the entrance hall to the apartment block which is painted black and has lots of dolls hanging from the ceiling and other ornaments around is a bit foreboding. But some people love this look. Each to their own. My apartment was a good size, kitchen area with plenty of crockery and utensils for 2 people, small oven, hot plates, fridge, kettle, and other handy kitchen things. Dining room table and chairs. Large balcony with table and 2 chairs. The bedroom was a good size with large fitted wardrobe plenty hangers and draws which were a bit stiff to open and close, dressing table, sofa and comfortable double bed. Safe in the wardrobe which wasn't bolted down and was key operated. The biggest disappointment for us was the bathroom. I am not a large person but the actual shower area was very small with artificial plastic greenery covering the shower cubicle walls which was very uncomfortable if you needed to lean against the wall and there was a plastic shower curtain. It was difficult not to flood the floor as the cubicle was so small so towels were needed around the area. The pool area is stunning with an abundance of foliage, trees, plants and flowers which is very well kept, unfortunately its a haven for wasps which I am petrified of. The pool is spotless and very inviting. The small bar area is next to the pool, this is where you would have breakfast or a meal. Evening meals need to be ordered the day before. Only cash is accepted, no card payments at all. Which in this day and age is awkward, most people dont carry alot of cash, we certainly dont. The seating area at the bar is for about 8 people and it is very quiet but the family are extremely friendly and happy to sit and chat. We only got to chat to one lady holidaymaker while we were there. Most people seem to return to their apartment after their evening out. We went back to the bar on Saturday night at 10.15 after our meal out and it was closed. The sun lounges are very comfortable and perfect if you want to have some peace and quiet and read a book or listen to some of your own music on a headset. Vassina has done some beautiful murals on the walls around the pool. We didn't have any meals at the complex as we liked to sit on our balcony and have our breakfast and we met friends for evening meals but Vassina and her Sister Alexandra make lovely cocktails and you get a little cake with a coffee. You have 4 keys to carry about with you, one for the main gate, one for the main doors to the building, your own apartment door and your safe key. Take care of them as there is a charge for lost keys. My summing up is, with a few tweaks here and there, this could, for me, be a nicer place but as I said at the beginning we are all different. The bathroom being the biggest problem, maybe some light music around the pool area might encourage more people to sit around especially on an evening, battery operated safe and bolt it down and a card machine would make life easier. I have tried to give plenty of positives in my review which are deserving and just point out a few negatives but most reviewers love this place so you can only find out what you think by going yourself.
